XBGuy Posted May 10, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2016 In my previous life I would travel occasionally to Anchorage. For breakfast the local rep always took me to Gwennies. Big breakfasts. Reindeer sausage. :)
zqvol Posted May 10, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 10, 2016 (edited) . . . Quick lunch option in Ketchikan? (1 hr tops) . . . We like Annabelles across the street from the docks. It is our go to stop every time we are there. Great chowder. http://www.annabellesketchikan.com/ You can check the menu on the website. AKStafford Posted May 10, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 10, 2016 (edited) Lunch options in McKinley (Alaskan Gill? Grizzly Bar and Grill?) staying at Princess Wilderness Lodge Dinner in Talkeetna? Breakfast2/Lunch2/Dinner2 in Denali (Prospectors? Denali Salmon Bake? Denali Doghouse?) staying at Denali Princess Lodge McKinley? There's no town called McKinley. I assume you mean the McKinley Princess Lodge. It sits on an isolated property about 40 minutes from Talkeetna. There's nothing there but the lodge and it's 3 dining venues: http://www.princesslodges.com/amenities/mckinley-amenities.htm Talkeetna: I lile Twister Creek or Latitude 62. Denali area: 49th State Brewery is popular and has a shuttle. Edited May 10, 2016 by AKStafford

Snow City Cafe is very good- but can be long lines. Denali- I just about always include Prospector's and the Salmon Bake, have been known to get Subways too. :) (very fresh), Talkeetna I just about always include Latitude 62, but, again, without a car, it's a walk. Of course the Roadhouse is always one of my stops- tough to get in with tour buses. I like Burger Queen in Ketchikan. The McKinley Lodge you are stuck with their dining options. lucky cal Posted May 16, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 16, 2016 For dinner in Talkeetna, we enjoyed Wildflower Cafe. If you can stick around for breakfast, the Roadhouse is great for pancakes, cinnamon rolls, etc. Flying Squirrel Bakery is a nice stop for a coffee and sweet treats on your way out of town but is not walking distance from the town's main drag. Will you have a car while at Denali? 229 Parks Restaurant was fantastic for dinner and we also enjoyed 49th State Brewery in Healy, but neither of these are walking distance from Glitter Gulch. pamrob Posted May 16, 2016 #9 Share Posted May 16, 2016 Grabbed lunch at Rose's Caboose in Ketchikan this past week. I ordered the fish & chips which was enough to share. My husband had the chowder and really enjoyed it. My parents ordered hamburgers which were also good.
