Onboard credit question

I'm going on a 14 day cruise (back to back 7 day cruises) on the Regal Princess next March. I got $600 in onboard credits when I booked. Does anyone know if I have to use all of those in the first week or can I use them anytime during the 14 days? Also, does anyone know where the outdoor smoking area is on this ship?

Thanks!

I'm going on a 14 day cruise (back to back 7 day cruises) on the Regal Also, does anyone know where the outdoor smoking area is on this ship?

Thanks!

Outdoor, cigarettes only:

Deck 7, Starboard aft outside deck area, there is a small standing area with a cigarette disposal unit attached to the wall.

Deck 17 aft by the Terrace Pool there is an area for smoking.

Indoor:

Casino, parts are non smoking and there are some non smoking evenings

Chruchill's, This is the only place on the ship where cigar and pipe smoking is allowed.

Yes, they carry over. Your account will begin with a $600 credit balance. All on board spending including the auto-tip (except future cruise deposits) will be added to your account daily. Your balance, debit or credit, at the end of the first 7 days will carry over to the next 7 days. At the end of your voyage you will receive a final summary invoice.

FYI: If you are active or discharged military you can get additional OBC. Check the Princess military credit. If you own at least 100 shares of Carnival Corp. stock you can also get additional OBC. Check out the Carnival Corporation Shareholder Benefit.

On b2b are internet minutes carry over from first seven to second or is minutes for 14 days?

Are you asking about the Captains Circle internet benefit, or an internet plan you purchase?

For either it depends on how you booked: as two separate cruises with two booking numbers, or as one 14 day cruise.

If booked as two separate cruises, whether or not any minutes left over from a plan activated the first week will carry over to the second seems to be handled differently on each ship. You will want to ask the internet manager during their hours in the Internet Cafe what exactly will happen.

For the Captains Circle (platinum or elite member) benefit: if booked as one 14-day cruise you will get one 250 minute package for the entire cruise; if as two 7-day cruises you will get 150 minutes the first week and an additional 150 the second. Again, whether the first week carries over depends on the policy of the individual ship and/or the largess of the internet manager.

Internet plans you purchase likely handled similarly. My advice would be to examine your cruise card upon boarding; if it is valid for two weeks even if you booked as two separate cruises, perhaps any pack of minutes purchased will be as well. Again, following up on board is essential.

Thanks, Fishywood for the above info. We booked as a 14 day but our Cruising History on Princess is showing 2 credit. At the end of the first leg, we will have to go downstairs to immigration with our passports, I believe. After this first leg, I am "assuming we will each become elite because we will have completed our 15th cruise doing the first leg. Please correct me if I am wrong.:)

My next question is, do elite passengers get more minutes than Platinum or is it the same amount?

Even if booked as a single cruise, if also sold as two segments you automatically get two cruise credits. But most benefits are administered as if you are on a single 14 day cruise as there is only one booking number to associate them with. In your case, since week one constitutes your 15th cruise credit you are entitled to the Black Card for week two, though you may have to see the Circle Host to trade in your gray one.

The internet benefit is based on length of cruise, not Circle status: Platinum and Elite get the same packages. (Contrast this with sister line Cunard which bases their internet benefit solely on cruise history: Platinum gets you four hours, Diamond [their name for Elite] six, no matter if the cruise is four days or four weeks. So which method is better )

.

Does the smoke from the smoking area by the Regal Terrace pool permeate the whole area, or can you sit away from the smoking area and not breathe the smoke?

The entire AFT area on 17 is smoking. There are tables/chairs and loungers that smokers can use and it's pretty much the main hub for smokers esp on sea days. The pool is right in the middle of it but is elevated so can't say for sure if the smoke reaches up there. When the ship is on port however smoke does rise up to the running/walking track. :( Only one door constantly opening separates this area and the stairs/gym area. In fact it got so bad on the cruise we had to stop using the AFT stairs as you could smell smoke all the way down to 7. So unless you smoke, I wouldn't recommend trying to use that pool.

If you are not smoking you will not want to sit in the area. It would be a nice place to sit in the morning and enjoy coffee. We tried one morning but the smoke is just to bad for a non-smoker like myself to enjoy this area. Lots of other areas that are smoke free.

check your account to be certain, but spend the OBC whenever you want.

On b2b are internet minutes carry over from first seven to second or is minutes for 14 days?

Like everything on princess this is consistent.

On one b2b, the internet manager told me to keep using the first

cruise's minutes into the second cruise, and then he would reset for me.

On another, the internet manager told me to use up all my minutes

during the first cruise, or lose them.
