Thoughts about the Pride

Recommended Posts

Looking to book a cruise next summer to Bermuda. One of the choices is the Pride. It seems to have the newer restaurants/bars. I wanted to know from people who have been on the Pride, what was their experience. Again, just going by online pics, I really like the idea that the Serenity area has its own pool. Would love to hear from people who have been on her, what did you think?

To date the Pride is my favorite out of the ships I have sailed. Just the right passenger capacity to public space available. I do not think I ever waited in a line on that ship. I also love the decor. I know that many do not, but I love it. My only downside to the Pride is her Bahamas Itinerary and that vibration if she still has it. I would not book the rear of the ship.

Been on her twice (and her sister the Miracle once). Have two more booked for her - both to Bermuda in 2016 and again in 2017.

I certainly find her just right for my cruising requirements. I haven't been disappointed yet.

I prefer the "smaller" ships....I love Bermuda, so was looking for that itinerary. Thanks for the heads-up on the "vibration", I am looking to book mid-ship

We were on the Pride last year and can't wait to go back ! The ship has all the upgrades and I have to say it had the friendlest staff we've have so far..

We loved Ken the maitre'D but I know he is on the Vista right now.. we are hoping he returns to the Pride by October !! :D

We've been on larger newer ships (Dream and Breeze) and we've been on older smaller ship (Fascination) but by far we liked the Pride best !!

We had been on all the spirit class ships except Pride and finally booked a B2B last May, 2015 and she is a great ship. We also did a Journeys cruise in March and it was our all time favorite cruise. Ship is so easy to get around and there is the added bonus of having a retractable roof over one of the pools and if you are interested in spending time at the Serenity area, Pride has one of the best! Crew is top notch. Jamman54 is our "resident Pride expert" and has written I think 2 reviews with tons of pictures. You might want to put that in search and check them out. GO FOR IT! You won't be disappointed! ;);)

I am fortunate enough to be in my comfy bed in our spacious room on the Pride, as I type this. My 36th cruise..17 different cruise ships....Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Princess, Celebrity, NCL and Windspirit....this is.... hands down.... the prettiest, friendliest and nicer ship of all. The food is beyond delectable. I steered clear of Carnival til the Pride.

....if I can't cruise on the Pride....I'm not cruising....you WILL.LOVE.IT.....PERIOD

The Pride is now our favorite ship. We have been on her three times and we can't wait to be on her again for 14 days next February. I do have one photo review of the Pride in my signature. If you have any questions ask away! :)

I have been on the carnival:

fantasy

fascination

Legend

Dream.

The fantasy class ships are very laid back and you really get that "cruising" kind of feeling, but they are basic by today's standards. We tried the Dream and felt overwhelmed with the sheer size of the ship, lack of chairs at the pool, lines for EVERYTHING... and even had trouble ordering room service the 3 times we attempted. IMO... the spirit class is the way to go. (There are other classes I have not tried yet though).

We are going on the Pride in 4 weeks. We chose this ship because out of all the ships we have been on, we like the layout of the Legend the best (sister to the pride). The adult entertainment we felt was a little lacking on the legend, but the kids LOVED the green thunder slide, the basketball court (never overly crowded), the put put course and now on the pride there will be the option of the outdoor dive in movie screen.

Ill let you know how our cruise goes in July.

I think you should give this ship a try!!!!

I don't really think that there is anything that I can say that others on this thread have said. I am fresh off of the Pride as of this past Sunday. Had a great cruise and she is the best ship that I have sailed. I loved the new upgrades! I'm going to echo others and say, GO FOR IT! You won't be disappointed!

Just on the Pride a couple months ago. we loved it. Serenity with it's own pool was really awesome. I also liked that it had all the 2.0 upgrades. rarely had a line for anything - however, the comedy club was a little small, which is typical on carnival ships ... so make sure to get there a little early to get seats. The food was great and the crew was awesome. I have the Bermuda itinerary booked for 2017 so that's the next time I cruise on her...

The Spirit Class ships are my favorite. Been on the Pride more then any other ship, mostly because it's close to home but glad we have a Spirit class so close.

Never has felt crowded, the crew has always been great, Serenity is peaceful even when full which isn't often. Even the Main pool was nice when we took the grandkids 2 years ago and had to use it.

If I had to pick a ship to be in our home port the Pride would be it

The staff on the Pride were incredibly sweet and very friendly. I loved going out of Baltimore as it is super convenient and the port area isn't huge which makes it delightful to navigate. A couple downsides - the casino is incredibly smoky which was fairly uncomfortable to even walk through. As you need to walk through it to get to some of the venues this was a bit of a downer. The other (and this could have been our specific cruise) was that it tended to be kinda "dead" at night. There was actually one night on our cruise that there was legitimately nothing going on at 11pm - super weird.

Would I go again? Sure! However, I would probably go only in warm weather as Thanksgiving out of Baltimore was a bit too chilly for my taste.

Loved the LAYOUT of the Pride, but HATED the décor......

I know....Not a big deal to many, but she was just DARK.....

Must preferred the Breeze....:D:D

Regardless, You will have a wonderful cruise on her.....

Enjoy!!!

I've been on the Pride 4 times since 2012. She is the only cruise ship I've ever been on however I feel like I'm at home each and every time I sail on her. I have another cruise booked in November of this year. Can't go wrong with the Beautiful Carnival Pride.

Just sailed her a few weeks ago. It was my first time on a smaller ship and it was just ok. Probably wont book another as I found that I prefer larger ships. Feel that the stabilization is significantly better on larger. It was nice not having tons of people crowding around you tho..

We were on the Pride in April, which was our 5th time. Like everyone else, we like the size of the ship. The crew is the friendliest, food is good, but the Alchemy bar is our favorite! Drinks before dinner at Alchemy bar is the best way to start your evening. David's Steakhouse is awesome, and if you go the first or second night, you can either choose a free bottle of wine, or 50% off any wine on the menu.

This last time we had 4 sea days and we brought 6 other people with us, 3 were first time cruisers. I worried about what we would do on those days, but there were so many options, we had to pick and choose which events to attend. Ths first timers already want to go back, and they want to go back on the Pride!

I echo what others have said - the spirit class ships are AWESOME. I sailed the Pride for Thanksgiving 2014, and am sailing again next month.

The retractable roof can be a lifesaver if you have bad weather (like we did). Yes, the décor isn't as bright as some ships, but I thought it was fine. The steakhouse is great, so is Guy's burgers. The only time I felt it was crowded was trying to find a seat for the Dive In movies. Lots of chair hogs then. :(

For an older ship without all the bells and whistles, both me and my son had a great time on it. I'd gladly sail on her again.

Heather, just to clarify, I do believe it's a bit older, but I thought it did have the "bells and whistles" i.e., newer bars, Guys burgers, Alchemy, etc....am I missing something?
