Can someone clarify:

How long does it take from MIA to west palm beach via Tri-rail? Is there any shuttles or buses that you have to take or is it from airport stop to airport stop?

Is there another stop closer to the the port of Miami that the airport?

Just Google Trirail. Used to live down there. Never met one local who would take it. I heard they were working on improving it but you had to get off and bus . Do not remember details. Unless you live in PB. just fly cheaply to FLL and shuttle to Miami port.

It is a lot of work to save a little money.

You didn't say what day of the week you want to use it but if on the weekend service is limited and overcrowding is an issue.

The MIA station is attached to the airport via a free monorail. At PBI you have to take a shuttle bus:

If you are truly determined to take mass transit there is Metrorail from downtown Miami to the Airport, which will drop you right at the Tri-rail station. But service on Sunday is extremely limited.

As you can see the train from MIA station to West Palm Beach takes a bit over 90 minutes. Shuttle to PBI another 20-30. If on the weekend (especially Sunday) even if in the first group off your ship I would not count on catching a train earlier than the 10:17 from MIA which puts you at PBI at 12:25 after the shuttle ride. Meaning a flight before 2:00 is too tight--and personally I would add another hour in case you don't make that train.

I would say it is going to take you around three hours.

Out of curiousity, why do you want to do this?

Keep in mind our public transportation in South Florida isn't like transportation anywhere else in the world that has good public transport. It sucks.

They are trying but little things like corruption, malfeasance, and wasted tax dollars keep hindering this process.

Its 1hour 45 minutes from MIA to the West Palm beach station.

Trains run every hour on weekends.

To drive it takes 90 minutes and up, depending on accidents, rain, time of day,

day of the week If school is in session etc.....

Drivers in So. Fl. are the worst, most shouldn't have a license.

Because the day before they were walking a goat path.

If you are doing a one way rental, take into consideration the amount of time to pick up, with associated paper work and drop off with the same mess.

Good luck.
