Trying to firm up our timing in San Francisco. We are on a Vancouver departure for our Alaska cruise. Last port is Astoria. Will we have any customs and immigration when we disembark in San Francisco.

Not at all since you are already coming from The USA, Astoria, there will be no immigration in SF.

You forgot about customs. Doubt they will have customs people checking on them in Astoria and will do that after they pick up their luggage in SF on their way to the street. Should be relatively quick but, they do need to complete and turn in the customs form to the Customs person as customs official can check that the form is correct and nothing more is being brought back from Canada. Immigration checks the Passport or other documentation but, a different group handles Customs.

might be similar system when you stop in key West before disembarkation in Miami

You clear Immigration then in Miami you hand in your Customs forms on your way out of baggage claim

we did the same process in Charleston after visiting Bermuda last port was MIami where we handed in the Customs forms

Did you review the Bermuda Charleston trip? Heard mixed comments

If the April 2016 Regatta cruise is what you are referring to, we were on that one and thought it was great. Due to weather we had an extra night in Hamilton, too. We liked it so much we've booked the similar cruise for next year.

Watch the review section

Yes there were some grumpy people because we missed Norfolk

It was either that or rock & roll all day at sea

there are always some that know more than the Captain ;)
