popcan Posted June 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2016 I posted a little "how to shoot the milky way" guide on my blog if anyone's interested. You can do it, and it's fun! stoplightphotography.com [/img]

popcan Posted June 29, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted June 29, 2016 (edited) Has anyone tried this on a cruise ship? That would be tough, given that the ship, (you'd have to be tied up at dock), might have movement or vibration which may show up in a 20 second exposure.... But on calm waters in port, on tripod of course, it might work! Maybe I'll give it a try next trip! Edited June 29, 2016 by popcan
les37b Posted June 29, 2016 #8 Share Posted June 29, 2016 Even in dock it wouldn't work. Have a look at timelapse with a ship in it...... they always move.... but I suspect you'd get too much light pollution on deck anyway.
