Boarding from second port on domestic cruise

Recommended Posts

It's very likely possible (although with no discount). However you need to contact and get agreement and approval from Princess in advance (you can do through your TA if using one). They need to set it up in the profile so that it is expected, and the ship and port agents are set up and expecting it.

Thanks for that, will call Princess today before booking, don't want any issues after paying a deposit.

Yes..Security at the gates , or entrance to the terminal , will need to be informed and someone from the ship will have to meet her in the terminal and either issue Cruise Card , or escort her through the ships gangway security , and then issue her card at the Front Desk.

A couple of cruises back we left Sydney and I saw someone board in Melbourne a couple of days later, no idea if they had missed the ship or it was pre arranged, I know there was an issue because their luggage wouldn't fit through the normal onboard scanner and staff were making other arrangements, probably the only reason I noticed.

I haven't seen it for passengers but crew and entertainment staff are always joining at middle of the cruise ports, so it is possible as long as the cruise line approve and make the necessary arrangements.

Rang princess today & was told very similar story to previous comments.

According to princess rep it can depend on the port as well but luckily for us

Melbourne is fairly easy to organise. We have to be upfront when making the

booking & enter the information on our paperwork,Princess will apparently inform

us if the booking has been accepted,if not we don't go.
