Hi All. I plan to order the Bottomless Bubbles soda package.

I have set up my onboard account with my credit card.

When is my credit card charged for item I order thru my onboard account.

If I order the soda package today, will it just be added to my account and paid at the end of the cruise? Or will the charge go thru on my credit card right away ?

Thanks.

Anything like that purchased in advance has to be paid for at the time of purchase. They will bill your credit card immediately

Thabnk you both for the quick response.

I guess I'll wait until a week before departure to orde the package.

No sense letting them have my money for 5 months in advance.

I guess there is a danger they will increase the price.

What happens if you buy the package now, and want to cancel it later? Is that possible ?

Make sure you check your online booking. Many times they will offer 20% off on beverage packages.

Seriously, I have never seen that on Carnival. I have seen reduced excursions on booking but never beverage packages. Are you sure you don't have your cruise lines confused

Only Cheers is reduced in price if you buy it ahead of time. Bottomless Bubbles is the same either way.

I'm aware of that but the response was to someone saying they often reduce beverage packages by 20% if booked during an online booking. I have never seen that with Carnival. If they do I don't know how I have missed that but if they don't why are we spreading false information about Carnival to an OP's question. That was why I was asking for clarification from the poster as to being sure this was Carnival and not one of the many other cruise lines they sail.

Last thing we need is someone else coming in here upset because they were told one thing on here and Carnival didn't know what they were talking about and refused to honor it.

Oh I see what you mean now. Some cruise lines do offer reduced/free beverage packages as part of your booking. Yeah, that's not the case with Carnival. They don't really volunteer that Cheers is cheaper beforehand either. You have to know how to look for it.

Certain posters seem to pop over here to the Carnival board and start saying things that don't hold true as far as Carnival goes and give bad info. I don't think it's intentional, just uninformed. They should really do some research before posting things on what they think may be true.

So to OP, BB is the same price no matter when you buy it (unless the price goes up). Cheers OTOH is cheaper if you purchase ahead of time.

I think they do offer shore excursions at a savings if you book 3 of them within a certain timeframe of your deposit but I haven't experienced that first hand. I'm just going by what I have seen on here. I don't do my shore excursions through the ship so this statement should be treated as here say unless someone can chime in and verify it's accuracy.

Once you are ON the ship, your credit card will not be charged until the end of the cruise. Anything you book BEFORE you get on the ship is charged immediately.

Yes but be aware that there will be holds placed throughout the cruise so it's best to use a credit card instead of a debit card.

Cut-off for pre-purchase is at 11:00pm ET, the evening prior to the cruise departure.

Once onboard, the cost for CHEERS! is $54.95 USD per person, per day plus 15% gratuity. Guests can sign up for CHEERS! at the Atrium Bar, Casino Bar or at the midship pool area bar.

We didn't do cheers on the Vista two weeks ago so it was fun to get the AMX notifications of charges each day. They were holds and fell off after a few days but I get an alert on the iPhone each time it happens.
