Divina - Yacht Club

Hi.

I am new to MSC but poking around seeing if I may change my NCL Getaway cruise in February.

For the Divina, if I book lowest category in Yacht Club, it says special access to spa. Does this mean we can sit in the spa on the loungers?

Does the Divina have a separate Yacht Club area such as how the Getaway has it's own Haven access?

Thank you very much!

Yes,,the MSC Yacht Club is similar to what NCL's Haven would be,except for the dedicated Yacht Club restaurant which is aft on deck 15 but will be included within the Yacht Club area on MSC Seaside and all of the new builds,, more details here:https://www.msccruisesusa.com/en-us/Why-MSC/MSC-Yacht-Club.aspx

The special access refers to an elevator in the Yacht Club which has direct access to the spa. Yacht Club guests have unlimited access to the steam rooms and saunas,,:)

Besides what Mike stated above you will save a lot of $$$.

Thank you both very much.

I will look to see what the Seaside is and where it sails since it would be even better to have the restaurant within the club itself.

If you have sailed on both, would you consider both on par with each other Yacht Club vs. Haven?

Thanks so much!

MSC Seaside will be replacing MSC Divina in the Caribbean in December 2017 and she will sail an identical itinerary as MSC Divina except for a stop at MSC's new private island, Ocean Cay. I have never sailed NCL Haven so I can't comment on this,,

Yacht Club is drastically better than Haven - and I've been in both. Yacht club suites are not quite as nice as the Haven suites though - bathroom is small by comparison, suites are smaller. BUT then there is the pool deck and 2 hot tubs, outside buffet and bar, then the bar in the lounge and buffet in there - changed every 3 hours, plus Le Muse (dedicated restaurant), butler service, mini bar - all alcohol is included except bottles of wine, for example, but otherwise, it is all included within the Yacht Club. Your mini bar is included and restocked twice a day - more if you want. They even bring food from the specialty restaurants into Le Muse - so no need to pay for a specialty restaurant ever and the food? Neapolitan - the absolute best there is. You also get entry to the spa thermal suite - steam rooms and dry saunas and relaxation area - unfortunately no thalisotherapy pool. BUT the entertainment on Divina is outstanding, the casino is non-smoking. It's just a great cruise! I've been in The Haven before and after. Where NCL leads is in having really nice large bathrooms in their suites. But other than that, Yacht Club is superior in every way.

I'm going to start reading the reviews and I see gambee also sailed, although 2 years ago, but I enjoy his reviews. Although I'm sailing in the Haven next month, the cruise in question is NCL Getaway in a Spa Cabin (not Haven). The Haven Spa (or the least expensive Haven on the February sailing) is about $3,000 more than my "regular" spa balcony. I figured I would have the spa to retreat to (I did this on the CCL Breeze and loved it) and I would make a mad dash for Vibe passes but being Type A as I am, I'm already stressing about that. Anyway, if I cancel my NCL Spa Balcony and book Yacht Club Divina in the least expensive YC cabin, it would cost about $1000 more than Getaway, which we are willing to do. Although the drinks aren't a "concern" I do like the option of ordering whatever we like and not having to worry and if I was outside the Club, we would have to purchase drinks and I would need to add that expense onto the cost.

BUT, when I go onto the MSC website, for select sailings from July 2016-March 2017, it shows this for an all-inclusive option, which I would think covers all our drinks:

We've just made your Caribbean All Inclusive cruise planning even easier with all-inclusive cruise packages on your next MSC Divina cruise. Get ready to experience the ultimate cruise vacation visiting stunning Caribbean destinations like Jamaica, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.

************************************************

Starting from $798, your all-inclusive cruise includes:

• 7-NIGHT CRUISE - Cruise the Caribbean in beautiful accommodations on the ultramodern MSC Divina

• MEALS - Dine at the buffet and main dining rooms

• UNLIMITED DRINKS - Drink cocktails, beer, wine, coffee, soft drinks & more with the More-For-Less Classic Unlimited Drink Package ($315 value)

• WIFI - Enjoy the Internet Surfer Package ($33 value) that includes email and social media

• TOUR EXCURSION - Receive a Shipboard Credit which can be used for a tour or for whatever you desire ($40 -$75 value)

• KIDS SAIL FREE - Kids 12 & Under Sail FREE on select sailings

***************************************************

If I were sailing with my family of four (kids 18 and 22) I would stick with NCL/RCCL, but this trip in February is just with my mom, who will be a month shy of 71 (I'm almost 50).

We aren't party people although we do enjoy going to comedy shows and the fun piano bars on other cruise lines and enjoy the Love Marriage show and Quest. But by 11-12, we are done for the night. From what I have read so far, it looks like the Divina is a bit more low key, which would be fine for us to relax.

Are there umbrellas and shade at One Pool? What deck do I want to book if I want to be closest/in the Club?

Thank you very much!

For the Love of God MSC keeps getting cheaper by the day for US sailings!!!!. The August specials are amazing (I'm finding YC for around $1,000 pp again), and if the above is true ~ for $798 you get all drinks, wifi, and tours this line is going to be very hard to beat even if that isn't a YC room.

To answer your questions:

1) There are not any comedy clubs, nor are there piano sing-along bars. It's much more subdued, but still very nice. Just not as "fun"; but that sounds terrible because I had fun on both my cruises. Maybe more laid back is a better term? No love and marriage show, but there is a milder version of quest.

2) There are only three umbrellas in One Pool and they are over the three smoking tables. There is an umbrella type tarp over One Pool bar with about 5 tables in the shade. No umbrellas at all surrounding loungers. This would be an easy fix in Dry dock :).

The all-inclusive only applies to bookings for cabins outside the Yacht Club as MSC regards the YC as all-inclusive - except it ONLY applies in the enclave. If you book YC, drinks are not included in the rest of the ship. A bit disingenuous, I know, and can cause some confusion. It's been suggested many times here that all-inclusive should apply to the overall ship bars and lounges and not just be confined to YC.
