eastsider57 Posted July 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2016 We are going on a cruise to Alaska and flying into Vancouver a day early. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as staying in a hotel downtown by the cruise terminal. We are going with another couple and any suggestions would be great. Thanks much!!!!! newmilford Posted July 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Pan Pacific. Right in the cruise terminal. Can't beat the location but also not inexpensive.
Rare cruisestitch Posted July 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Try the Desinations board rather than the Celebrity board, or tripadvisor.
Rare Miaminice Posted July 24, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 24, 2016 (edited) As said before: Pan Pacific ! It is part of the cruise terminal and they offer specials for cruise passengers (breakfast and late check out incl.). You can have them pick up your luggage at your room and they will check it in for you. Then you just ride down the elevator to the cruise terminal level and you are right at the check in and customs - VERY convenient! Rare Cruise Raider Posted July 24, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 24, 2016 I also would recommend the Pan Pacific!! It is just fantastic and sometimes, although not often, you can find a good deal. The Fairmont Waterfront is right across the street and couldn't be too bad either. There is a Sheraton not far either .... but for ultimate convenience, you cannot beat the Pan Pacific. If you can, try to get a harbor view room. It will be well worth it!

WEGL81 Posted July 24, 2016 #8 Share Posted July 24, 2016 We stayed in the Century Plaza. It was nice enough and not too expensive. It has a comedy club in the basement (or did 3 years ago when we went). It is much less expensive than Pan Pacific.
4774Papa Posted July 24, 2016 #9 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Pan Pacific. Right in the cruise terminal. Can't beat the location but also not inexpensive. The Pan Pacific is located at the cruise terminal. If you don't mind paying almost $400 Canadian a night it would be great. We are staying there two nights prior to our cruise, but we arrive in Vancouver a week and a half early and have a week there before we take a Rocky Mountain tour for four days. We are staying at the Metropolitan Hotel, that is about 4-5 blocks from the Pan Pacific for about $1100 US for seven days.
ptrpanpens Posted July 24, 2016 #10 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Loved the Pan Pacific. The best panoramic view I have ever had anywhere. So close to the Hatbor I felt like I was on one of the upper decks of the ship. Plus the beds, pillows and linens all top grade percale and so comfortable. Definitely worth the splurge! fleckle Posted July 24, 2016 #11 Share Posted July 24, 2016 If price is a consideration, you can't go wrong with any Priceline 4 star hotel in the Coal Harbour area. We have done that a number of times and always got a nice hotel within walking distance of the cruise terminal for less than $200 per night (sometimes far less). On embarkation day, it was a $5 to $10 taxi ride from the hotel to the cruise terminal with all our luggage.

Thanks much!!!!!Thoughts.... downtown Vancouver is relatively compact.... most hotels are less than $10 cab ride. By going a few blocks or further away.... you find significant savings that will cover the cab ride and more. In addition to Pan Pacific, Waterfront and Pacific Rim also offer cruise luggage transfer. From another post.... I see you are looking for shelter June 3, 2017.
