We were scheduled to be in Edinburgh today, the Captain came on the PA yesterday around 5 and told us due to weather we would be staying here in Newcastle for an extra day. It's nice here but would have liked to see Edinburgh.

Marina is lovely, we've noticed a few of the changes since updated/refurbed as we were on a few months ago.

Very windy here in Central Scotland. Sorry you will miss Edinburgh, especially during the Festival. Hope you and rest of passengers can come back another time. It is a wonderful city at any time!

Nautica sailed to Skagen, at the very tip of Denmark over night, but couldn't make it into port due to high winds, so we're now heading to Copenhagen for an overnight stay. Sea was very lumpy but is looking a little calmer now.

Was keen to visit Skagen but better to keep safe and at least we gain an evening in the city.

The food on Nautica is delicious, but, at the moment Copenhagen is the "it" city for dining. Here are three lovely restaurants you might want to consider if you're in the mood to do something special with your unexpected overnight in Copenhagen:

Geist (Small plates)

Formel B (Our favorite meal. A nice bridge between traditional food and more modern Scandinavian.)

Amass (Chef/owner is a former head chef at Noma, the restaurant that began Copenhagen's top foodie reputation. This restaurant offers a more accessible version of Noma's foraging philosophy (i.e. no twigs or bugs!)

Using the ship's internet connection, you'll be able to make online reservations all three of the restaurants I've mentions. Both Formel B and Geist are showing availability tonight via its online reservation system. Amass is only accepting wait list names for 6:00 and 6:30 PM seating.

Love Copenhagen! One of my favourite ports of call. Have visited twice around this time of year and guess we were lucky with weather as no disruption on cruises to Baltic and Norwegian fiords. Enjoy!

Two of our favorite staff on Oceania.

Please say hi to David from Military Police (for Marsha & Paul - that is the mnemonic David had used to remember our names :D) and to Damien as well.

We were on the Marina in June.

Sorry that you missed Edinburgh :(

Hi ORV,

What changes have you noticed from Marina's refurbishment?

Sent from my iPad using Forums

Mainly little things, the casino has new stools, some machines changed around, not necessarily for the better. There are new cushions on some chairs outside Barristas. If I remember or notice more I'll post about it. Just woke up, not at my best. There are no big changes.

Count us in as lovers of Copenhagen, one of our favorite cities anywhere. We visited Skagen some years ago with a Danish friend and enjoyed the town very much but it IS small and a few hours was enough. Personally, I'd prefer CPH for the day. (Not that I advocate missing ports unless you have to!)
