Belle Posted August 18, 2016 Author #2 Share Posted August 18, 2016 Wasn't away because I wanted too. My "sweet computer" just decided to break down. Took this long to get a tower. Never get anything when "they" say you will. Just been holding own on weight, need to lose! Starting meetings, paperwork on my mother, changing to my name ect., nothing is easy. Saying Thank you to my father for looking ahead and leaving me the money after my mother was gone. I don't always remember where everyone lives but again I hope none of you are having any problems with floods or fires. Hope to see a "bunch" of you on here for weigh-in day! MOcruiserman Posted August 18, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2016 Glad you're back, Belle, and taking care of business. Too bad about your computer but getting a new one is nice because they improve so much in just a few years. I got a little arrogant after last week's 1.5 loss and ate three big meals out - Thursday, Friday and Monday. And they took their toll as I gained back 1 pound - up to 192.5. After looking at those sleek young men and women at the Olympics I wonder how do they have the will power to get themselves into such great shape and maintain it? That amazes me. So I'm going to try harder this week - no more self-indulgent big meals. I hope everyone did better than I did.
retiring soon Posted August 18, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2016 Hi all! Belle ~ nice to have you back in fine form!:D We've been having a drought up here which is of concern to the farmers but we finally got some rain Tuesday. CruisermanVA ~ I was pretty sure I'd be up this week too for the same reason but low & behold I'm down 1.6 lbs but having lunch out today & tomorrow. Maybe the heat & humidity are offsetting the eating. Have a good week. ~ Jo ~ :)
winewanderer Posted August 18, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2016 Hello Friends, Belle, nice that you are here. Glad you are ok. Staying the same is ok. Good news. I lost 2 lbs. I am, well, shocked...........we went to a BBQ over the weekend. Burgers, hotdogs, chips. Although I did park myself away from the buffet table...... Now I just have to keep it off. 3 weeks until cruise time for me. Cruiserman, sorry you gained. Jo, glad you lost. We live about 1.5 hours from the Clayton fire in Lower Lake but no ill effects for us. Good luck to everyone this week. Diana
carabop Posted August 18, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2016 Hi all, Good to see you all. I was actually was able to log in on a regular weigh in day. I thought I would be up after vacation and then eating out earlier this week but nope still holding steady at 134. I am hoping to lose more 70 days until cruise. The next 30 days I do not have a lot of work but the 30 after that I will not be home much working a lot. And then I will only have 1 week to get my cruise packing done and everything in order. Wishing you all the best and lots of weight loss.
MOcruiserman Posted August 18, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 18, 2016 My wife joined Weight-Watchers today. I'm hoping that will lead to less frequent visits to our local restaurants.

Belle Posted August 20, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted August 20, 2016 Are you having a Good Weekend? Hope so. Anyone doing anything exciting? I'm not. Shootr, Rose and all others.. Where Are You? Wish we all would get in the habit to talk during the week and say how we're doing. What we are doing good even saying when we're doing not as good. We could come in with tips advice ect. Might help us in our weight loss. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I think it is if going to school or working. But for me as a stay at home, it's better for me not to eat. If I eat breakfast I want more food during the day. So eating two meals a day seems to work better for me. What works for you?
retiring soon Posted August 20, 2016 #11 Share Posted August 20, 2016 Hi all! Belle ~ I've always eaten breakfast, even if I was running late for work. I don't think I've ever missed a meal, lol! I've had 3 lunches out so far this week with another tomorrow after our Church anniversary service (139 years) plus I bought some chocolate covered almonds the other day at the chocolate factory on the bus trip so I'm probably headed up next week.:o Hope the rest of you are behaving this weekend!;) ~ Jo ~ :)
MOcruiserman Posted August 21, 2016 #12 Share Posted August 21, 2016 I wasn't feeling so hot on Friday but the good news is that, by Saturday morning, my weight had dropped to 190, a 2.5 pound loss in 2 days! 36 pound total loss and only 10 pounds from my goal! I'm pretty sure my weight won't stay down there through next Thursday but it was nice to see. My wife is happy about her new Weight Watcher's plan. WW has a very helpful app for the phone that she's making use of. I'm hoping she will be successful with it.

shootr Posted August 22, 2016 #14 Share Posted August 22, 2016 Sorry to have been MIA, things just haven't been clicking lately. This morning I got up with the will to try again. Since I can't seem to sleep past 4AM anymore, something is telling me to go get on the bike and get some riding in again. I have to admit it was slow going compared to earlier this year - but sure felt better the rest of the day. Got some good things to eat, and if I can somehow stop snacking at night, I think I might just have a chance to get back to 185 someday. I'm guessing I'm 196 or so right now, from the waistband of my clothes - but will use next Thursday as the starting point. I found these lemon ice cups that have taken the place of dessert. Lots of coffee and tea during the day with a little lunchbox/cooler to keep my lunchmeat at a good temp as I eat a little throughout the day. Good old spicy veggie juice too. Though it's 10 months away, we're beginning planning for a 2 week trip to Ireland, Scotland, and England next year. Plenty of other goals along the way - weddings, holidays, etc. to want to look and feel good for so will try to keep those in mind when temptation strikes. Your trip to the British Isles is a good goal to aim towards. We're looking at a possible cruise there in 2018 or 2019.
winewanderer Posted August 23, 2016 #16 Share Posted August 23, 2016 We are all trying very hard. Breakfast....can't live without it........Try to have something healthy like oatmeal and a piece of fruit or a bran cereal. Hubby and I go to the gym everyday and I walk for an hour also several days a week. I help hubby with his business but am mostly semi-retired. I weighed myself this morning and keeping my 2 lb. loss off from last Thursday. Diana
Belle Posted August 24, 2016 Author #17 Share Posted August 24, 2016 shootr.. Good to see you. 4am bike rides! Love to hear about your exercise. We love your pictures. I know it's hard for us to get back on track when we go off. You can do it. You have a great trip coming up Diana.. Glad you can eat breakfast and not want to eat more. When I do try, know it's good for you, have fruit or eggs. Usually have breakfast at times for lunch and then dinner. You have a great exercise program too. Great on keeping loss off. Your at goal or very close aren't you? Your cruise in a little over two weeks? Lucky! All when can do is keep at. It's not a diet it's a lifelong way of life. Where would we be if we didn't. Even if we're up now, it would be much more if not trying and coming in here each week.
shootr Posted August 24, 2016 #18 Share Posted August 24, 2016 Yeah, after the kitchen and life in general, just haven't been able to get the camera out lately. 3 days in a row on the bike, I think the "habit" might just take again. Been pretty good at 1300-1500 good calories a day, no junk, barely any processed sugar, but too much brown rice last couple days. Strayed away from My Fitness Pal and am trying the Samsung S-Health system, since I got a free smartwatch with the new phone a while back. Still learning the quirks of the interface - I like how it integrates a worthy exercise tracker into a calorie counter and step counter. I know I went too far in the wrong direction when I have to look for "those pants" - the ones that aren't as tight as the rest...:o Anyways, only evening snacking this week has been lemon ice cups and carefully selected Jamba Juices. Onward...

carabop Posted August 24, 2016 #23 Share Posted August 24, 2016 I haven't worked this week so I spent the last few days volunteering. They go out to lunch to eat. Wonder what that will do for me? Guess we will find out tomorrow. Although yesterday and today I was only able to eat half of what I ordered. Hope that is a good sign.
