How do group cabin discounts work?

I am planning a family reunion for our family and will probably book 8 cabins for the family in 2018. Most of us will be in balcony rooms but there are a few families that will have 3 people in the rooms. In order to get the discount, must the cabins be in the same category, i.e., D5?

I know that I will be booking through a travel agent rather than the RC website.

Any other tips or information that can assist me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! I have learned so much from all of you (never fly out of Port Canaveral before Noon, book the hump cabin, and...have fun!)

You can have different cabins. I believe that they will base your rebate on the cabin that you have the most of.

We are booked through our friends TA for a family & friends group cruise, the TA got prices for a group of cabins that the people chose, example, Balconies, OV's Inside. I don't believe any chose a Suite cabin. Those in each of the selected categories, got a base price with Taxes/Port Fees.

NCL has a new group program. Discounts are not a common practice, however you have a choice of two programs which offer. Perks.....the perks could be sell 7 cabins and get 2 tc credits or sell 7 cabins and get a choice of 1 from a list of promos or choose 2 from a different list of promos.

A group will have prices set at the time of setting up the group but they are typically normal prices. The value. Is they are protected meaning if prices rise yours are still low. However NCL reserves the right to recall your unsold cabins and reprise them, so more often than not you will see cheaper. FIT prices than the. Group prices. So you then book the FIT and have your agent move them into the group.

When you make your group reserve 16 cabins of. Various categories, not suites. Up to 16 require no deposit until you actually book and put a name to the booking. You may also get a GAp point value which is also used to buy perks for each cabin or to provide obc or even additional commission to the agent. This is typically when the agency sets up the group for themselves and sell into it. If you set up the group or they do it for you, you should get to assign the gap perks.

Hope this helps

...and my understanding is that once there are 8 staterooms booked at double occupancy, the rebate is one persons' base stateroom rate, or a 1/16th rate reduction over the 8 staterooms.

My wife used to be a travel agent and her job was to book groups. If you get 8 cabins booked, you get one free. Talk to your agent. We went on many a trip with the free cabin. Because the agency setup the group, they got the free cabin. We "escorted" the group, which meant we had to ensure buses were there to pick them up, etc, etc. If you are dealing directly with RCCL, you would get the free cabin. If they won't deal, go see a travel agent.

With RC, you actually get 1/2 of a free stateroom (one free guest fare) when you book 8 double occupancy staterooms.

There may also be what are known as gap points available, it depends on the sailing. These points can be converted to OBC or other amenities for each cabin in the group. Our upcoming group has 4 gap points which translates to $50 OBC per cabin
