kccrzr Posted April 8, 2017 #3001 Share Posted April 8, 2017 June 15, 2015 That's when I booked the 2017 Hawaii sailing that I'm about to embark on in 28 days :) Sent from my iPhone using Forums
MsDolly Posted April 8, 2017 #3002 Share Posted April 8, 2017 The Australia/New Zealand release keep changing, anyone know why? First it was 3rd April Then it was 10 April Then it was 12 April Now it's TBD. I'm hanging out to book the Sydney to Honolulu or reverse again. Anyone know the hold up? Are they possibly changing ships down this way? At the moment our season has Voyager, Explorer, Radiance and Ovation. I know there has been a bit of chatter on possible changes to the ships, I am going to book the TP regardless and take my chances. I am going to call everyday starting on the 12th, they'll be sick and tired of me...lol Thanks for posting the updated deployment sheet. Yea I'm definitely booking the TP one once available. I want the one that goes via Bora Bora, have done it on Rhapsody and Radiance so hope they change to a bigger ship like Voyager/Explorer. Wilson Posted April 8, 2017 #3005 Share Posted April 8, 2017 Well went ahead and booked! The worst that can happen is I will get some OBC and book something else! And managed to get corner aft junior suite 8096 so am well chuffed! Guess we will look at a couple 2019 cruises and like you, worst case we will get a piece of that obc. It paid off last year when we booked a Brilliance cruise that we suspected would be chartered.

It paid off last year when we booked a Brilliance cruise that we suspected would be chartered. I hope if they do sell the ship it doesn't mean they will be dropping Venice as an embarkation port. We plan to stay on Venice for a few days in advance then pick up the cruise in June 2018 - that will do really scupper our plans! londongal796 Posted April 8, 2017 #3007 Share Posted April 8, 2017 Australia / Singapore now says TBD  http://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Deployment/2017_2018/17054855_Deployment_OpeningSchedule_Flyer.pdf Super gutted. It's hard enough trying to check the RC website AND this thread each and every single day, multiple times a day, trying to keep an eye on this. Doing it for an indeterminate amount of time is just exhausting.

Biker19 Posted April 8, 2017 #3009 Share Posted April 8, 2017 I wonder how many people would pay for opening day price protection - for $100, you are guaranteed to get the opening day price for a month. Biker, who is giving RCI free advice on how to make even more money.

springaussie Posted April 8, 2017 #3011 Share Posted April 8, 2017 Royal Caribbean seem to be increasing cruises from Sydney in October 2018. Radiance and Voyager are the names used for the bookings. Already on sale from Sydney in October and November 2018 are music charters on Radiance. Voyager normally arrives Sydney early November with Explorer a few days later. The Hong Kong and Sydney Port booking October 2018, April 2019 and May 2019 contradict each other with the name Voyager of the Seas. Maybe this has something to do with the hold on deployment release in Australia. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We have a cruise booked next year from Sydney to Snfapore but I am probably going to cancel as RCI has dropped Port Douglas from the itinerary and there are now very few port stops on a 14 night cruise. I'm doing that one in 10 days, shame they're dropping a port. Have a look at the Sydney to Singapore on Ovation, it does similar ports and also includes Malaysia. With Sydney OPT now severely capacity constrained, Royal will grow this market with bigger ships perhaps supplemented by extending the season. These Sydney OPT entries look very suss: Radiance Oct 6, 9, 16 and 19. I'd say two of those are another ship. Then we have "Voyage" of the Seas (not Voyager) on Oct 1 and 12 followed by a gap until Nov 2 when Voyager is listed. I have two guesses: 1. Ovation arrives earlier and leaves later. 2. Quantum joins her sister in Sydney, replacing Radiance, again for capacity reasons. Both of these could occur of course. harz99 Posted April 9, 2017 #3018 Share Posted April 9, 2017 Geoff2802, I hope your guesses are wrong because that means the number of ports that can berth the ships reduce, then the cruises become all about the ship rather than destination calls. There are already too many Australasia and Pacific Island port calls that other lines do which Royal goes nowhere near, so it becomes like the Caribbean same old same old. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Forums mobile app Yeah I agree. I'd like Radiance to stay and then another of the same class to operate from Brisbane when the new terminal is completed (2019?). I'm boarding Radiance tomorrow and will dig around to see if anyone has inside info (unlikely but worth digging). I think Cruiseboy suggested a Quantum class ship might be headed to Alaska to compete with NCL Bliss. If this occurs then that ship would probably replace Explorer in Australia and on the transpacific route. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I'm thinking specifically of fitting under the bridge in Vancouver. Lots of "ifs."

A recent article mentioned that starting in 2019, they will relieve the constraint by double booking ships on the same day. So one ship can have the berth up till early afternoon, while the second the rest of the day.
