Rare WesW Posted September 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2016 Thanks to Candy/Spinnaker2, for the heads up on today's Seatrade news article about Silversea's new leadership and vision for the future. Key graphs and link posted below; http://www.seatrade-cruise.com/news/news-headlines/a-shared-vision-for-silverseas-growth-higher-brand-profile.html 'It's a very exciting time for Silversea with the newbuild Silver Muse coming and a very aggressive newbuild and conversion program both in the classic and expedition fleet,' Martinoli said. Next year Silver Muse becomes the first in what's expected to stretch into a multi-ship series, while Silver Cloud, the line's original ship, is being converted to join Silversea Expeditions. Recently plans were announced for $170m in fleetwide refurbishments, to start with Silver Whisper, Silver Wind and Silver Discoverer in 2016. Village.ins Posted September 24, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2016 So all they need to do now is get rid of Andre Nordseth and get back to being customer focused. Need your opinion, where will SS end? Perhaps a part of Apollo?
Rare Silver Spectre Posted September 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 24, 2016 Need your opinion, where will SS end? Perhaps a part of Apollo? It probably depends on what Manfredi wants to do over the next 5-10 years, he is still young enough to stay actively involved for at least that time. So short term I cannot see him selling out to another group as long as SS can make money. If they can continue to raise money independently to build new ships then where is the need to become part of a larger group. The next big downturn will no doubt see a shakeout in the luxury sector and that may determine where SS ends up. On the other hand, expect an announcement imminently. Stumblefoot Posted September 25, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 25, 2016 Thanks for the link to the article, Wes. Sounds like an exciting future is in store. I know we're excited about the possibilities of Silver Cloud in the expedition fleet.
