gapearl Posted October 6, 2016 Author #151 Share Posted October 6, 2016 Everyone was cold when we got back onboard. After passing through security, housekeeping was there with warm towels for passengers. I thought that was a very nice touch. My mom was in the room when I got there. She spent the day people watching and talking to random folks. I was ready for a long hot shower and it was about time to start getting ready for dinner. gapearl Posted October 6, 2016 Author #152 Share Posted October 6, 2016 Tonight's dinner menus. Sorry some of them came out blurry. I hate to nitpick, but the I had at least one dirty menu every night. I can understand a little stain here or there, but they were pretty much always stained. Attention to detail! They should look into having them replaced when they look like this.
gapearl Posted October 6, 2016 Author #153 Share Posted October 6, 2016 Shrimp cocktail. Fish of the night, I think salmon. Vegetable spring rolls. I wish these were still on the every day menu. Gazpacho. I've had it on many other cruises but it was definitely off tonight. Meatballs. Grilled chicken with extra broccoli and mashed potatoes. gapearl Posted October 6, 2016 Author #154 Share Posted October 6, 2016 Dessert fruit plate. Some kind of pie, I don't know.... My dress for the night. :)
gapearl Posted October 6, 2016 Author #155 Share Posted October 6, 2016 I went to the 10:15 pm Punchliner show with Stanley Ullman after dinner. I asked the comedy club manager Red to take our picture, but I didn't know he took a selfie first lol. This guy was funny. :D There was supposed to be a deck party tonight, but I skipped it. Judging by other events so far, I figured there wouldn’t be good attendance. The Beauties Nightclub was dead so it was an early night back in my room. I don’t know why I didn’t have any desire to do too much nightlife this cruise besides the comedy shows, but it’s a good thing I didn’t want to. I would have been very disappointed as the ship was quiet. I went to the lido for a slice of pizza and a cup of coffee (weird combination, I know lol). I stopped by the casino on the way back to my room to make a $20 donation. Once back “home,” I put on my bathrobe and sat outside for a while enjoying the fresh air. Is this what you call getting old? HAHAHA Stay tuned, much more Bermuda to come!
seannyice81 Posted October 6, 2016 #156 Share Posted October 6, 2016 Great work on the review as always Kim! It was wonderful hanging out with you on this cruise and I'm sure you're going to have an amazing time on Fantasy soon! I had to pause my review to get ready for Europe. I'll give you the ins & outs of Vista
retiring soon Posted October 6, 2016 #157 Share Posted October 6, 2016 Hi all! "Thank you! I need to poke through the many Vista reviews that have been posted for my December cruise. Will you be writing one? Havana is one of the most charming places I've traveled to so far. The excitement of the old cars wore off after about a day. I stayed along a tiny little street in Centro Havana, and the fumes from them were AWFUL. There were times where it was hard to breathe. I sincerely hope the American companies don't commercialize it. Havana does not need a McDonald's and Starbucks on every corner." Loving your review, especially the beautiful pictures. Some different cloud formations & a rainbow, nice! The food looks good too & is making me even more excited for my Vista cruise in 2 weeks!:D No, I won't be writng a review of my Vista cruise. I still haven't done TA reviews for a trip I took in June 2015 nor reviews of my cruises in April.:o I'm going on Escape too, in October next year. Hope you're on that one. I didn't think of the fumes from the old cars. Havana is a place like no other I'd say & I hope, along with others, that it doesn't change too fast. Carry on, looking forward to more of Bermuda.;) ~ Jo ~ :)
funinthesun1964 Posted October 7, 2016 #158 Share Posted October 7, 2016 We arrived at Horseshoe Bay at 4 pm. I don’t know why me and no one else, but the driver offered me weed as I was leaving. I passed lol. Why did you pass? :D Lol. Enjoying your review. :D

I agree that stained menus are gross. Why can't they have them laminated and then clean them? If not, just replace. Totally unacceptable. No one wants to see someone else's leftovers on their menu! SMSACE6 Posted October 7, 2016 #160 Share Posted October 7, 2016 Hi Gapearl! Loving your review as always! I have been to to Bermuda twice on land vacations and absolutely loved it. I read all the Bermuda reviews, and all of yours too. A couple of decades ago, I toyed with the idea of living in Las Vegas, and then with living in Florida (full time, we had a vacation home there then), but life just got in the way of making changes, and I never did get to fulfill those wishes. Still think about what life would have been though in either of those places. oh, enough of my rambling...on with more of your review when you are ready:)
bakersdozen12 Posted October 7, 2016 #161 Share Posted October 7, 2016 I love reading yours reviews! Thanks so much for taking the time to write them. And I love the attitude you had about the sunglasses. Too many people focus on just the bad and don't have any appreciation of the fact that things could be much worst, and that some people actually do have it worse then them. I admire your attitude and I wish that there were more people in the world like you! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
gapearl Posted October 7, 2016 Author #162 Share Posted October 7, 2016 What's up Kim! Hope Vegas is treating you well! Did you enjoy your balcony? After 8 cruises I finally stayed in my first balcony this past September and let me tell you, it's going extremely tough going back to an inside or ocean view cabin! Absolutely loved it! I see that you're cruising on the Escape next year, so am I! The Escape is a fantastic ship and I'm sure you're going to love it (especially if you chose the UBP).:) Looking forward to reading the rest of your review! Hey Charles how have you been? Long time no talk! :D The balcony was awesome! I don't think I'm a balcony snob yet where I just HAVE to have one, but I'll definitely be looking harder at them from now on. You're part of the reason I booked Escape. It was between Glory and Escape, same itinerary, same price, but I got the free beverage package as well. I remembered how much you loved that cruise so I decided to give it a try. If I hate it I'm coming after you lol. You've gotta message me and let me know how your Breeze cruise went. ;) Hey Kim, I've been waiting for another trip on the Pride. Thanks for taking me along. You saw things I never saw. LOL Can't wait to read the rest. Hi Jane! I always love having you here. :)
gapearl Posted October 7, 2016 Author #163 Share Posted October 7, 2016 OMG, I've been looking for your review for months...so glad I found this. Congrats on your move to Vegas, you'll love it, especially the night life. I've already settled in with a cup of coffee, and now I"m ready to read this review. Welcome back Kim (aka GAPearl), very excited to read this review. Lol apparently a lot of people have been looking for this but I haven't been on CC much at all this year. So far Vegas is treating me great. I did the tourist and nightlife thing many times over the last few years as a visitor. However anyone that lives in Vegas can tell you there's one thing you don't do when you live here, and that's go to the Strip. You just don't unless maybe someone is visiting or there's a concert you're going to see. The only nightlife I take part in occasionally is the small Latin dance scene here at a few local spots where everyone knows everyone lol. Thanks for reading, so much more to come. :) Hey Kim! You know I've been not so patiently waiting on this review. I was waiting till the end to comment but I had to say this... If you remember I said you were sailing with 4 of my Aunties, well 1 is a bit of a diva & was not happy about the closed steam room. I found out from her sister that she complained to the CD & wanted them to close the men's steam room for an hour so she could use it. Of course they didn't, but she got a bottle of wine & 25% future cruise. Teresa! I HATE you weren't on this trip! I wonder if I saw or met your aunts at any point??? I can't believe she wanted them to close off the men's steam room just for her lol. Dang is that all I had to do get a discounted future cruise? :p

I'll give you the ins & outs of Vista  Hey Sean! I had fun cruising with you again. Thanks for putting up with me being a diva after dinner every night, but you see the pictures all came out great lol. I don't know when I'll be able to read your review. I guess I'll have two of yours to catch up with soon. Have fun on Vista!

Totally unacceptable. No one wants to see someone else's leftovers on their menu! I think that would be a good idea. Seems like it would be cost effective too as they wouldn't be replacing worn out paper all the time. Hi Gapearl! Loving your review as always! Thanks for coming back to read another book of mine lol. I enjoyed Bermuda very much, even with the bad weather we had. I don't think I'll be planning another trip there in the near future as I just wasn't wowed by anything, but maybe one day. I don't know if I'll be here forever. I still really want to live in Central America for a year. I'm thinking I'll be here at least a couple of years, and if I don't like it any more I'll most likely go to Florida. :)

TX Cruise Girl Posted October 7, 2016 #171 Share Posted October 7, 2016 Great review. I agree that you had a very good attitude about your glasses. I recently lost a pair of $200 Gucci sunglasses and I made a really big deal about it. Now I realize it's not that serious. Clearly I need to stick to regular priced glasses. lol
cruzin Phillis Posted October 7, 2016 #172 Share Posted October 7, 2016 Ok that's it for now! I'll be back later to respond to comments and will try to get day 2, our first sea day, done tomorrow.
