Question...

I take advantage of purchasing the "Cruise Cash" ahead and I understand that it's $500 max. but is that per person, or for all passengers combined? I'm asking because I have put $275 on my account, my mom has put $200 on hers, but we still have another passenger that will be in our room that is suppose to be putting money on his also.

Thanks in advanced.

It is per account. As long as your accounts aren't linked, you should each be able to purchase $500.

Don't forget that it is use it or lose it!

Thanks for your reply. By linked what are you referring to? We all have 3 different credit card numbers on file but we are in the same room.

And I understand it's use it or lose it. =) I think going through $275 shouldn't be a problem.

Something to know for next time. With gift cards you do not have a max, and you get refunded what you do not use. Gift cards are easy to find with a % discount. I know I get mine for 10% off.

Just something to think about for next time.

If you are all using your own credit cards, you are good for $500 each in cruise cash.

Yes, it is "use it or lose it" - BUT on the last night of the cruise, go to the Kiosk and cash out. The kiosk will let you take the balance of the cruise cash out. If you don't do it that way (or through the casino), you do not get refunded.

So use it all, or cash out last day in the kiosk!!

I thought when I was checking cruise cash on the website it said it was $500 per cabin, I would have to look again to be sure. But you can also buy bar cash think that is what it's called and photo cash and those have separate limits of $500 each. So if you want to buy pictures of drinks (and you aren't planning on getting cheers) you can put additional money on specifically for those purchases. Also like mentioned even though it's non refundable you can still draw it out at the casino or kiosk prior to the end of the cruise. They just won't send you a check when the cruise is over so you don't have to use it all during your cruise, just don't leave any in your account or you will forfeit it.

Okay, I've purchased $200 in bar cash for our cruise and I don't anticipate not using it all but can the same procedure be used for bar cash or does it not let you take it out because it is designated bar cash?

Per John Heald,

It is $500 per cabin not per passenger. But, you can do $500 for Cruise cash, $500 for Cruise Cash Bar, and $500 for Cruise Cash Photo. Just no more than the $500 for each. If that makes sense. Not sure why they would do that when there's usually more than one person in a cabin. Anywhooooo thought you folks would like to know.

I agree, it makes absolutely no sense.

Here it is from the website:

Cruise Cash provides an immediate credit to a guest's Sail & Sign account. This credit is good for any charge made to their account including taxes and gratuity charges. Cruise Cash is valid for a single voyage and cannot be transferred to future bookings. Cruise Cash is non-refundable and any unused credits will be forfeited.

*Cruise Cash purchases limited to $500 per cabin.

What's even more messed up is if you buy photo CC, then it can only be used on photos. Same for Bar CC. At least that's what I have been told. I always get gift cards.

Very strange system that can get expensive real quick if you are not careful.

Few cruises back cashed in points from our Carnival M/C and got $ 700 obc.

Figured it as refundable obc. Few days into the cruise wanted to be sure went to guest services where they told us use it or lose it.

Casino was not happy but took the cash out thru them.
