Question re: pier in Antigua

Is there anything of interest right in the pier area (such as restaurants or shops), or is it just an area used for tour meet-ups, etc.? I signed up for a tour that skips going to a beach (by choice) and was just wondering if there's anything around to look for or if I should just go straight back to the ship after I'm dropped off?

In Antigua, the piers are right in town. So you can walk out of the small port...and you are then in the local shopping area. Can't say there is much we would want to buy, but it can be fun to walk around town and browse some of the local shops and the market.
