Booked an aft. extended balcony cruise for 7 days..

But notice a really nice ocean suite right next to my cabin for $400.00 more

Bigger room... fttf included (I think) ...

Thinking about upgrading to this. But is it really worth it??

Folks can only tell you if it's "worth it" to them.

They cannot decide for you how you wish to spend your money. We used to book balconies until we tried a suite for one cruise. Now DH won't sail in any other sort of cabin! He loves the normal sized bathroom and more space!!

Up to you not the rest of the cruisers out there.

Agree with you 100% but people keep asking for advise here.

The OP did ask, what would do ? :D

Hehe, Yes I know the OP asked and everyone answered.

I was just reminding the OP that in the end it is their decision.

I never understand how knowing what other people would do helps anyone make up their own mind?

Are we sheep or do we have independent thoughts??

We have sailed in an aft corner wrap and loved it. We booked one for another cruise a couple of years later. As that sailing drew near, we noticed that all the afts were sold out, but suites weren't sailing well. We had an opportunity to move to a suite and get a REFUND of $75. We decided to go for it, since we would never spend the money on a suite under ordinary circumstances. It was nice enough and had a longer that typical balcony, but we decided that we like the aft better all around.

With that said, I do think that its a personal preference thing and you may not know what your preference is until you have experienced both. I personally would not spend an additional $400 over and already pricey aft balcony :)

Wouldn't sail in an aft again unless free and then I'd still think about it.

have done so twice on different ships on different cruise lines. Both times woken in the middle of the night by unknown ship vibrations bouncing me out of bed and/or the noise from the deck above when the crew is setting up for the early morning risers.

Cruised in an aft balcony once and was not a fan...too much sun and little privacy. Cruised suites twice and loved it and am doing it again in Jan. A few other recently added suite perks are 1 liter bottle of water per guest, priority tenders, and bag of laundry wash and fold. So my vote is go for the ocean suite.

Cheers and enjoy the cruise.

More and more we seem to be a nation of sheep. Now back to our regularly scheduled bickering.:)

What ship? Per person or total?

I would. The better the room or balcony, the more time you can spend there. On the Spirit ships, I never wanted to leave my balcony or room.

It's always was strange for me why people love aft cabins so much. any time we go to aft I fill vibration and it's pretty noisy .

Not to me. That $400 would buy an awful lot of Funship Specials lol

If this was a Princess ship and you were not yet Platinum I would say go for it.

Because it would mean early boarding, a bar set up, breakfast in a nice dining room that includes Mimosas, access to the Elite lounge at night, etc.. On Carnival it is just more room and early boarding.
