Rare sparks1093 Posted November 2, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2016 The terms of each policy will dictate this but usually your private health insurance is primary and vacation insurance is secondary.
springs741 Posted November 2, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2016 It has been my experience that you pay via S&S card and then submit for reimbursement to your health insurance as primary and travel insurance as secondary. Many healthcare policies do not provided for coverage out of the country. For example Medicare and Medicaid do not cover anything out side of the US. Some health insurance (like mine) treat it as out of network and reimburse. It is wise to be sure when purchasing travel insurance to be clear on the terms. klfrodo Posted November 2, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Which one covers you if you have to visit the ship doctor? Thanks! Neither. You pay with your S&S account. Then when you return home you file for reimbursement
