No help on casino treads

So if you actually win money in the casino they won't offer you a comp for future cruise?

Depends on your play. If you played $500 and won $2K, I wouldn't expect any comps. :) However, if you lost $10K, then won $14K and walked away $4K up, you will not get as good of a comp offer as you would if you played it back and walked away even.

It really depends. I have been comped Haven suites by CAS multiple times - but that was after $10K+ losses. A $7K loss in 7 days usually equates to a mini-suite comp - but if I walk away "up" (not often but sometimes I'm lucky :)) I find that my offers drop to balconies (depending upon which cruise I want to book.) When that happens I feel like I am being "penalized" for my wins.

I have seen folks post on this forum and another cruise casino group that they get suite comps from CAS on a regular basis. Either they are losing lots of money or I am dealing with the wrong folks at CAS. :)

That is so opposite on how it works in Atlantic City. They give you more comps if you win. I guess that want you to come back so that they can get their money back from you that you won lol

If you play BJ perfectly, craps with no side bets or pai gow and win, your theo loss(which is what your future comp will be on) will be very low. In March I played 95% of the time at these tables and won over 8k for the trip. My theo loss was only $7800 and that was when I had put over 1.4 million into play. I was offered a mini-suite for my next cruise. I earned just shy of 15000 points.

In September I had a horrible start the first two nights and basically did not gamble for the rest of the cruise. I lost $4800 and earned 760 points. I was offered a balcony on my next cruise.

Your losses count more towards comps than points or time played if you win.

I tend to agree! It may be that those who have the "best" offers from their CAS agents are concerned about giving that info away? As I have done numerous searches.....trying to find "old" posts that mention which agent or agents seem to have better deals/offers....and cannot find any of them.

I usually deal with whoever answers the phone at CAS.....have been on 4-5 cruises within the past year.....have been VIP for over 3 years now....and am beginning to doubt the offers being presented. Last cruise made "Elite" status....CAS agent that I am dealing with was not even able to tell me what add'l perks came with....

So truly looking for a better agent.....the one that I have been dealing with for the past year or so has not even answered my last two e mails. It is discouraging when you meet other gamblers in the casinos that are AMAZED that you are not receiving more in the line of comps after watching my level of play.

And with regards to "closed shop" I have also tried to join the CAS Facebook page.....NEVER rec'd a response....despite having tried 4-5 times. Again, I am beginning to think that those that are receiving the best deals and info are keeping it close to the chest...

It's against Cruise Critic rules to give names/numbers of PCCs or TAs so maybe that is why you can't find those threads. They go POOF.

I booked a comped cruise for December after losing last year on the 10 day cruise $8,000. They are only giving me a balcony comped. The agent told me CAS rules have changed and have gotten tighter. The cruise I booked is holiday time so that also weighed in. I can't understand these people that got comped suites-they must have lost a mint!

Just to toss in my 2 cents to the OP, I used to have a fabulous CAS agent that left the company a couple of years ago. I still miss him (Ron you were the BEST!). But since then, it has been almost impossible to get a specific contact, as they are reluctant, and sometimes refuse, to give out their extension. Unlike land based casinos where you can build up a relationship with a host, CAS seems to discourage this. So I just take my chances and call the general CAS number. If I don't like the answer, I thank them, and call back another day & talk to another agent.

I've actually cut way back on my NCL cruises, as the land based casinos seem to be giving out cruises like candy lately. It is giving me an opportunity to check out other lines.

I tend to agree! I often get the impression that even if you call back to speak to another agent....that they are all sitting around sharing who they are talking to ....comparing notes on what has been offered....

FINALLY my land casino has begun to offer cruise comps/perks....so I too am not going to pursue this CAS thing much longer....but it was good while it lasted!

Spoke to my rep today and they'll take the $8K/10 x 7 to come up with what they'll comp for a 7 day cruise. That $5600 is still in balcony territory unfortunately.

I have had two agents give me their extensions in the past, but I've found it's hard to catch them. I usually try to call the one who seemed the friendliest and most knowledgeable. You can leave a message and wait for a return call, but who knows if they are in that day and I'm usually trying to get something done quickly to catch a specific room or promo. They do return calls, but as I don't know when that might be it's not always easy for me to be available when they call.

Yesterday I called the regular CAS number and actually got one who I have worked with in the past. Again he was friendly but seemed a little tired. He calculated an upgrade price for me and it seemed rather high so I decided not to go with it and thanked him for checking. After thinking about that particular cabin category all night, I called the general CAS number again today and the new (to me) person who answered gave me a price to upgrade that was $120 cheaper per person. Jumped on that one and got the cabin I wanted:D

Moral of the story, as so many have said here, never hurts to call again and ask another agent.

Quick side question about a CAS comped cruise - do you get priority boarding? Any other perks besides the casino drink card? I'm doing my first CAS cruise in 9 days and wondering what to expect.

Thanks in advance!

Not priority boarding, but you do get to check in using the CAS line. Your casino drink card can get you bottled water and energy drinks which you can't get with the UBP. Usually CAS sends some treats to your room a couple of times during the cruise.

Make sure you track how many points you make during the CAS year which runs from April 1st to March 31st. If you are close to going up a Tier it's nice to know so you can make a few more points. Just check with the casino host desk and see where you are at. Going up to Hot or Golden, etc, can get you a couple of more comps on your next cruise.

Have a great cruise:D

CAS priority boarding is offered in some ports.

Unfortunately, not in Miami.

Make sure to meet the casino hosts on embarkation day and say "hi" throughout your cruise. They may offer additional comps at the end of each leg of your voyage.
