Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted November 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2016 Hello Fellow Cruise Fans, I bring you a live update of all things Reflection Suite life as we make our way to Cozumel. Yesterday's boarding event took about 10 minutes from start to finish when entering through the suite guest line. A little longer in the other line but still not bad. Celebrity guests were greeted with a welcome aboard glass of champagne and then encouraged to get some lunch. We headed over the Lumane for a light lunch of skewered scallops and shrimp over rice and a cup of lobster bisque. Very tasty. We then headed over to Michael's club to book our Cozumel Secret River excursion. We haven't done an official excursion in years. Will let you know how it goes. We enjoyed our bon voyage from the balcony of our Sky suite where they still have a bottle of champagne waiting for you chilling in ice. I wasn't sure this perk was still available after some of the things I read regarding cut backs. We were scheduled to leave Maimi at 4 PM but didn't actually pull away until 5:30. Maybe somebody missed their flight? Anyhow, evening was great. We ate at the Lawn Club grill as they were offering 50% off as an embarkation special. We have opted not to get the specialty dining package ($137 PP) in favor of taking our chances with the discounts offered throughout the cruise. We asked our Cabin Steward, Izzy to look into a discount for Murano. Food at Lawn Club was good. I highly recommend the warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream for dessert. That's all for now! TeaBag Posted November 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2016 Thank you Christina for starting another "live" chat. I do so enjoy this type of post. It is very generous of those on board to do this because it does take away time from relaxing and enjoying your cruise. Hope it's a really good one for you. Sounds like it started off right with the Lawn Club.
Lotus Girl Posted November 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2016 Following along. We board on Christmas Eve for the week. I suspect the discounts won't be offered for the specialty dining on our cruise with it being Christmas.

kenevenpar Posted November 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2016 If it is Champagne in the room, it is something new. It is usually, or has been, sparkling wine.
BDL Posted November 20, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 20, 2016 I'm excited to follow your reports. We will be on her on Dec 10th! Which deck are you on with the Sky Suite? We'll be in one on 12 under the Sundries Shop so we're hoping there won't be any noise at night.

Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted November 20, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted November 20, 2016 Today's sea day has been awesome! We started with light breakfast on our balcony and then made our way to the solarium. I was pleasantly surprised by how many loungers were available! We snagged a couple in a quiet corner and hung out for a while. The turnover was steady and there never seemed to be a wait to get a chair. I noticed bar service was taking orders with some frequency which is a little different from some of the reviews I've read indicating that you have to go get your own drink because waiters are scarce. After a while we went to the Persian Garden to take advantage of the heated stone beds and sauna. We purchased a 7 day pass for two that allowed unlimited access for $118 total. This was cheaper than the published $75 PP. I love the Persian Gardens and think this money is well spent. Tonight is Chic night. We are eating in Lumane and will take in the cocktail show at the martini bar and then head to the casino for the "glow" party. Not sure what that entails but it could be fun. By the way, for all you slot players out there, I finally found one in Fortunes that pays! It's called Block Party and it's located at the end of a row nearest the gaming tables. I started with a twenty and played for an hour and a half with a 40 cent bet. Walked away with $155 bucks! So I will keep the details coming but I'm not really sure if I'm posting these updates correctly. Not sure if I just keep adding to the thread or if I should start a new one each time. Suggestions? Cheers! Christina

Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted November 20, 2016 Author #15 Share Posted November 20, 2016 I'm excited to follow your reports. We will be on her on Dec 10th! Which deck are you on with the Sky Suite? We'll be in one on 12 under the Sundries Shop so we're hoping there won't be any noise at night. We are on deck 12 in room 2116. It is not far from the sundries. This is the 2nd time we've stayed in this room and I've never heard a thing. I know this is not the case for those who have staterooms under the pool deck areas. I was a little worried the first time we stayed in the room but found it to be quiet enough to book it again. I think you will be fine.
Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted November 20, 2016 Author #16 Share Posted November 20, 2016 Lawn Club was open today for lunch. I didn't check the price but yesterday the Porch was open for lunch (a similar venue) and they were charging $20 PP.
likestorelax Posted November 20, 2016 #17 Share Posted November 20, 2016 Do you know how much the other specialty restaurants were discounted on the first night. Thanks for posting daily. I am going to enjoy your cruise along with you. It will give me a reason to tune in to cruise critic every day. Please enjoy a smoothie from the aqua spa cafe in the solarium for me. I had great luck in the casino also when on Reflection but gave it all back during the week. Hope you enjoy the trip.

Z3RACERGIRL Posted November 21, 2016 #19 Share Posted November 21, 2016 Christina, thanks for taking us along this week. We sail on Dec 10, getting very excited. Do you recall when or where you bought the Persian passes for 118$ for the pair ? I am already planning to get the week pass for myself, I will use the heated lounges daily. Love those things! Enjoy! Thanks again. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

levramosis Posted November 21, 2016 #21 Share Posted November 21, 2016 Silent disco - Did they have this on your cruise??? The recent live thread by seadog indicated they did this so they are still doing it on Reflection, of course can't say if they do it every sailing. BRIFRO Posted November 21, 2016 #24 Share Posted November 21, 2016 Following along. We board on Christmas Eve for the week. I suspect the discounts won't be offered for the specialty dining on our cruise with it being Christmas. The Lawn club is trying to increase the guest count as it is the least used venue on the Reflection during the Caribbean cruises. Half off is a great incentive for the first night. Thank you for the tip. Always best regards, BRIFRO
dszrew Posted November 21, 2016 #25 Share Posted November 21, 2016 Have you seen any advertisements for lunch @ the Lawn Club? Cost? Last week lunch at Lawn Club was offered every sea day for $10pp for gourmet burgers and fries. First sea day there were quite a few people there, so I think it was fairly popular.
