Normandy From La Harve

Any recommendations on Tour Companies that will do private 6 to 10 people tours from La Harve to Normandy. Overlord looks great except they want one person to pay for entire tour (a lot of risk for one person). Any ideas on how to do this or perhaps other tour operators that will take individual payments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

ACMS tours has each person book and pay. We are using them for the first time so can't comment, but their ratings were all excellent.

Did an excellent job when we used her. She wasn't available for this trip otherwise I would have happily used her again. Excellent guide. (No prepayment).

That was the case when we booked with them several years ago. Interesting that the poster above says it's no longer true. But if it is, I agree it's a big risk. We had a nice group on our Roll Call wanting to do a tour with them, and for whatever reason, others were having problems getting emails through to Overlord, but mine were going through. So either my wife and I were going to be the ones on the hook for the money (which we were justifiably concerned about), or the tour wasn't going to happen.

Here's what we did. We were on an eastbound TA, and everyone on our tour agreed to pay me their share in cash upon embarkation. Since we had sufficient time to cancel with Overlord if people didn't pay up, this worked out very well.

And we had a fabulous tour.

Whoever you go with, I strongly recommend that you watch (or re-watch) The Longest Day. Yes, it's a little cheesy by today's filmmaking standards, but the history is spot on and you'll appreciate your D-Day tour even more.

I used https://www.label-west.com/ and they were great, but ended up doing a private tour of just my wife and myself...as I could not get enough people to goto the Canadian sectors...so not sure if they accept payment from individuals. I have organized a fair # of private tours....usually just have to put down the deposit on behalf of the group..and on tour day pay the balance..usually in cash....of course if people don't show up, you have to pony up the cash, but I have never had an issue with that.
