cf3670 Posted December 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2016 The price for our cruise dropped after we booked. Can we expect anything from NCL to compensate for the difference.? We are wondering if they would provide free Wifi or onboard credits? What has been your experience? Thanks! Sent from my iPad using Forums

agargoyle Posted December 30, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 30, 2016 Hi, I usually book directly with the cruise line so if a price drop happens or great promos pop up I call. Often can get something from them. Sometimes it takes a couple of calls to reach someone that can/will offer something. If you booked with a travel agent call them and see if they can work out something with the cruise line. An example, booked on a NCL cruise in January and I just called and got an upgrade (because of price drops) to a mini-suite for only $40.00 along with several new perks. Good luck
cf3670 Posted December 30, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted December 30, 2016 We have made the final payment. We are working with a NCL person, waiting on a response. Just wondering how successful the negotiation could be asking for extras. We are in a mini suite now, so I am not expecting an upgrade to the Haven. We have the beverage & dining package, wondering if we could get Wifi added. Just wondering if others had similar experiences. Diabloshalo Posted December 30, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 30, 2016 I called yesterday and they gave us a complimentary room upgrade (not a big deal, really). They wouldn't allow us to get the wifi, casino credit, or any single thing else. The NCL agent said we'd have to pay for a new room at that price level to get those perks. But, I called back 3 times before I got the room upgrade, so keep trying!
purpletequila Posted December 30, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 30, 2016 I got 25% of the difference between the category I was assigned and the current dropped price for that category. Worked out to $25 each. He was also going to give me a free upgrade but NCL had made the entire ship "Guarantee" cabins only and that prevents them from doing so. casofilia Posted December 30, 2016 #7 Share Posted December 30, 2016 Upgrades after final payment are at the discretion of the NCL staff, the better rapport you ( have (or your TA has) with the PCC you have then the more likelihood of being treated well. Ask politely and don't demand.

sanger727 Posted December 30, 2016 #9 Share Posted December 30, 2016 They have absolutely no obligation to do anything. Some people are successful at getting a small percentage of the drop as OBC but that is unusual. Too bad, so sad is the norm. If the next higher room category has dropped to a price you are willing to pay, you can usually pay to upgrade. Otherwise, take it for what it is, when you book you lock a price in; pre-final payment you can take advantage of drops; post you can't but on the same note, if the price goes up you don't get charged extra.
