sunnysask Posted January 20, 2017 #26 Share Posted January 20, 2017 Not really awake yet, my first thought was that it was time to eat again...no no no...need to exercise first. 151 steps up, and into the pool I go. It is all mine and the water is warm. 50 more laps in the books. 151 steps back to the room to change. 151 steps up, time to eat. For the first time on this vacation, no eggs or bacon on my plate. I had a banana which I cut up and mixed with some seeds & nuts, some potatoes, a buttery croissant, and an awesome cinnamon bun. Now I am relaxing by the pool. Pete's dragon is on MUTS. I am almost finished the latest Lee Child book that I started yesterday. The wifi keeps disconnecting in this area. The connecting door does not take up any space. There is a door stopper sticking out of the wall. Neither one of us has kicked it yet. Please excuse all of our stuff in the photos...i forgot to take them when we first arrived. lor74 Posted January 20, 2017 Author #27 Share Posted January 20, 2017 (edited) I sat through the entire shopping show for the first time ever. It was quite long. They gave away a lot of stuff...didn't win anything [emoji24]. Afterwards I ran up the 8 flights of stairs...time to eat...oh no, there it is...the lamb [emoji83]. I had a large plate: soft lamb taco, hard beef taco, samosa, fritter and short ribs. On my way out a had a look at the desserts...a few minutes later I had eaten a cookie, warm brownie with chocolate sauce and a macadamia brownie....food coma is next! I found out the Italian night will be Dominica...now I can make my Crown Grill reservation. The band Atomic is playing pool side...imo, they are not very good. It is a very nice sea day! elycelynne Posted January 20, 2017 #28 Share Posted January 20, 2017 I'm going to be on the Royal's next cruise (1/29 with the other Eastern Caribbean itinerary) and it's my first time with Princess, so this really whets my appetite. Is the donut in your picture the one from the International Cafe? If so, looks yummy! I noticed from your Patters that Ron Goodman is the CD. The email that I got was from Kelly Rose. Not that it's of great importance since I don't know either of them, but is there any way you could find out which one is going to be the CD for the 1/29 sailing? EightFurryPaws Posted January 21, 2017 #30 Share Posted January 21, 2017 (edited) FYI--I spent 21 nights in cabin E227 on the Royal in June, 2016. At that time there was no connecting door, just a mirror. Totally unobstructed cabin. Edited January 21, 2017 by EightFurryPaws

lor74 Posted January 21, 2017 Author #35 Share Posted January 21, 2017 I was at the pool until mid afternoon when I decided I needed a nap. I went back to the cabin, and since I don't actually nap, watched the latest Star Trek movie in bed. We went to the early show (6:30pm) to see the comedian. He had a good set. From there we passed by Effy to get the free pendant, then to the CG to make our Monday reservation. Dinner was at the buffet...the usual routine of soup, big salad, misc items, and of course dessert(s). We closed the night with coffee from the IC and we listened to the pianist in Crooners...he was very good. Another sea day tomorrow. We moved the clocks 1hr forward. I'll ask Ron if I get the chance. I know this is the Deputy Cruise Directors last sailing before his break. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

lor74 Posted January 21, 2017 Author #37 Share Posted January 21, 2017 It is a beautiful morning at sea, the sun is shining on us. Ro went down to the IC while I watched the end of the Ghostbusters remake...horrible (and I say that as a fan of those ladies). She came back with coffees, my daily donut and a chocolate filled something called a Breton......numnumnum so good! After licking the plate clean, I put on my goggles and headed to the pool....sploosh, I sank like a rock...one, two, three, CLEAR...ok, we got him back! 50 hard laps later I am relaxing in the shade. The perimeter loungers were all reserved by 8:30am. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

yoyosma Posted January 22, 2017 #39 Share Posted January 22, 2017 Thank you, I will be boarding the Royal on the 18th of next month for a B2B and am enjoying this immensely. Especially the patters although it sounds like the CD will have changed by then. The captain will be changing as well if my long ago email is still correct. We will be captained by Nick Nash. Another excellent choice for Captain.
Rare Woobstr112G Posted January 22, 2017 #40 Share Posted January 22, 2017 Thanks for posting the menus. I was looking at the Crab Shack beer selections and it reminded of how much Princess needs to expand their beer selections......:):):) Bob

lor74 Posted January 22, 2017 Author #42 Share Posted January 22, 2017 It was a beautiful sea day. After my swim I watched Finding Dory on MUTS. I skipped breakfast and waited for my lamb. I had a big lunch which included a dessert bowl of fries with ketchup ☠️. A few more hours taking the sun and frolicking in the pool with Ro. When I had enough sun I went to check out the batting cage, but I couldn't play in sandals. I then grabbed an iced mocha from the IC and got comfortable on the balcony with the latest Robert Crais book. Back to the buffet for dinner (crab shack was tonight). Soup, salad and a small plate of veal and chicken. Mud pie a la mode for dessert. We went to the production show Colors of the World. The theatre was almost full when we got there, so I was in a seat with a poor viewing angle. I couldn't see half the stage but I enjoyed the music. I lost a few $$$ in the casino before calling it a night. It was a good day...Aruba tomorrow [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Rare dickinson Posted January 22, 2017 #47 Share Posted January 22, 2017 Unfortunately for me, they are. The wife still watches them for some reason. I guess it makes her feel younger??? Good to hear (although sorry for you!). I was reading Tracie-Lyn's solo Live from the Diamond and she said they have the same tv system as Royal and Regal but no Love Boat shows on the tv. Both my dh and I enjoy watching them sometimes although when I was on the Royal in April 2015 they had a very limited amount of episodes.
kimcht Posted January 22, 2017 #48 Share Posted January 22, 2017 thanks so much for your posts including the menus and patters. we leave on 2/8 for the same cruise, except the itinerary looks like ours is backwards from yours as princess cays is the first port and aruba the last. I am so hoping christina bianco will be on our cruise. we have seen her Diva show twice in cleveland and she is wonderful. make sure to catch her. banditoo Posted January 22, 2017 #50 Share Posted January 22, 2017 I'll be on the Royal for the Feb 28 Southern Caribbean sailing so am enjoying your live report in anticipation of our own turn. It's been a few years since we have been on Princess and I am curious as to whether they still do a main dining room night with crab legs or whether that has now been replaced by the crab shack which appears to include a fee?
