Hi everyone, myself and my family are going on our 1st cruise in June. We are on a med cruise with RC on the FOTS.

I've been looking at the excursions (wow) as a family of 5, this could get pricey! We defiantly want to visit Rome and see Pompeii when we dock at Naples. Can anyone offer any tips as to how we do this without breaking too much more of the bank?

Many thanks x

You don't have to have an excursion for every port of call. I remember we took a Hop On Hop Off Bus that we discovered just as we walked down the street from the ship. Another time we wandered around the town. We took a tourist train. You don't have to spend a lot of money at each port. In fact, I like to space the excursions out a bit so we can take it easy on some mornings rather than rush off the ship to meet up with our group.
