beshears Posted January 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2017 We are planning on doing the Glory for the first time in March. If you have been on the Carnival Glory within the past two years, what one, or two things did you like about this ship? I can always read plenty of "negative" things about a ship, but I want to read something POSITIVE as well.

If you have been on the Carnival Glory within the past two years, what one, or two things did you like about this ship? I can always read plenty of "negative" things about a ship, but I want to read something POSITIVE as well. Was on her last November. Food was very good. Service in main dining room was excellent. Room steward was very good as well.

Butterbean1000 Posted January 23, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 23, 2017 Though the Glory was not our favorite ship, we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise. The main thing that sticks out in my memory was the Alchemy Bar. There were two wonderful mixologists (I can't remember their names) that always started our favorite drinks before we could even order them. NickandJonsmom Posted January 23, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 23, 2017 I loved everything about the Glory. When I first pulled up to it I said oh my god this is tremendous I'm going to get lost like I do you want all the other ships. But, I did not get lost I found it so easy to navigate. Looking to go on another cruise on the glory
ABQrobin Posted January 24, 2017 #12 Share Posted January 24, 2017 We thought the entertainment was the best of any ship we have been on yet. (we have done 5 cruises). The Playlist group was amazing, every performer sang and danced like they were on Broadway, not a cruise ship. Really good stuff. Every show was good but of course the crowd favorite was Epic Rock. We also thought the Latin Nights show was great but the crowd (Glory sails from Miami) was so into it that they were screaming like they were at a concert and sometimes we couldn't even hear the singers! I also think the decor of the Glory was very nice... all nautical themes with sailboats in Lido. Very different from other Conquest class ships. adam3313 Posted January 24, 2017 #14 Share Posted January 24, 2017 I was on the Glory two weeks ago. For a "smaller" ship, I really liked the layout. They had a nicely sized Serenity Deck. The casino staff was all very friendly. The food venues are great. I'm sure she will look great after dry dock as well, fixing mostly cosmetic issues. Only thing I didn't like was the layout of the piano bar.

John F Posted January 24, 2017 #16 Share Posted January 24, 2017 ABQrobin, we are going on the Glory this Saturday. Did they have any of the Latin entertainment in the Deck 4 aft lounge?? On some cruises with large groups of Latin cruisers, they try to have entertainment back there about every night. Did you go into the Piano Bar?? Thanks for any info!! John F I was on Glory on Dec 3rd and will also be on her on Saturday. Did you mean deck 5 aft lounge? On Glory decks 3 and 4 aft are the main dining room. The deck 5 aft longue was used for comedy and karaoke. I did't see any "Latin" entertainment but i spend most of my evening in the casino.

cruzin2010 Posted January 24, 2017 #21 Share Posted January 24, 2017 We sailed for Christmas.. Loved the Glory, would sail her again in a heart beat. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, especially in the dining room we had the best wait staff ever! Someone earlier in thread mentioned fish and chips and just wanted to update you that fish chips has been replaced with BBQ, which was good. Also liked the CD Eric. All in all a great cruise. John F Posted January 24, 2017 #22 Share Posted January 24, 2017 Namelocg, the lounge that I am talking about is indeed on the 4th floor aft. It's called the Ivory Club Bar. It use to be a cigar bar awhile back. It's right there as you come out of the dining room. Spent many a night in there in years past listening to different music groups. Namelocg Posted January 25, 2017 #25 Share Posted January 25, 2017 Please tell us about your trip and the casino anything new in it I assume you are asking me, although i have been known to be wrong. First let me say that this was an Ultra Premier casino cruise. It was supposed to be limited to 50 invited guests plus whoever shared their cabin. It turned out that there were over 400 people besides all those that were not part of the Ultra. The casino was PACKED! People were sitting at tables and machines hours before the casino even opened. I play table games and was only able to get a seat at Ultimate Texas Holdem once the entire week. It was somewhat easier getting a seat at blackjack. The other nightmare was check in. There were over 500 platinum and diamond guests. My daughter and i handed our boarding passes to the woman at the captain's lounge and then waited almost an hour to get checked in. Once we were checked in we were allowed to immediately board. Our cabin was ready before noon. That's it for the not so good stuff. I cruise solo a lot but this time i had my 23 year old daughter and some friends sailing with me. We did the same itinerary as the Jan 28th cruise. In Grand Cayman we just got off and walked around town. Belize we did not get off. We spent most of the day at the aft adults only pool. At Mahogany Bay we went to the beach at the port. We got a clamshell and floaty mats and spent the day mostly in the water. In Cozumel we went to the all inclusive side of Mr Sancho's. And yes, we did eat and drink MY monies worth. The food on the ship was good. I am not a fan of Guy's but i love the burritos for both breakfast and lunch. I like the American Table menus in the dining room. Service was very good the 4 nights that we went. Also went to steakhouse once. It was excellent. The other 2 nights we ordered room service. The BLT was as good as ever and the steak sandwich on the extra charge part of the menu was enjoyed by my daughter and well worth the price. The best meal i have ever had on a cruise ship was the first sea day at lunch. This cruise was my first as diamond. We got invited to lunch with the captain. My friend tried to talk me out of going but my daughter and i went anyway. There was a crab salad appetizer with real crab and a filet mignon that was so tender you could cut it with a fork and cooked to perfection. I don't remember what dessert was. That's it. If you have any specific questions i'll try to answer them.
