Teens/Michaels Club

This past August we sailed the Summit and very much enjoyed the use of Michaels Club on several occasions.

We were all adults on that cruise and I really didn't take too much notice of others that came in and out.

We are booking another return trip to Bermuda for July, this time with more extended members of my family.

I will be sailing in the PH, while others will be in Sky Suites, so we all have access to MC.

My cousins children are 16 (son) and 13 (daughter)

Will they be permitted in MC with us?

I just cannot remember if I saw any teens/children in there!

My Daughter loved Michaels when she was 15, 16 and 17 .

All the MCCs we have known have treated her royally including one very special occasion on Reflection when she was 16.

She and a couple of the friends she had met at the X teen club wanted to eat together in the MDR early and catch a film together at 8pm at Celebrity Central. Even though it was not a formal night they had all put on thier best dresses to make a special evening of it. They went to the Maitre D at Select dinning at about 6.15 and were told they could not be seated before 8.30.

She came to us in Micheals to explain that they couldn't go to the MDR but were going to the OV Cafe instead, just so we would know were she was. She was a little subdued and Anka (the MCC) noticed and asked why she was not her usual exuberent self. She explained what had happened (not with any malice or attempt to seek a way round) and Anka jumped to action escorting her and her friends, who were waiting in the Ant room, to the MDR. She took them to the the desk and after having a quiet word with the Maitre D all 3 girls were taken to a table and proceeded to have a wonedfull time. They went onto see their film and Anka had arranged for popcorn to be deliverd to them.

Little touches like this are what make the concierges at Michaels such special people.

My wife and I had a similar experience on NCL a couple of years ago, although not nearly as spectacular. The Suites Concierge was always at the Suite restaurant in the AM for breakfast, on the last day my wife and I wanted to eat at Le Bistro at 6 PM, but when we went to breaky there was a different person working. She said the 1st time we could get into Le Bistro was 9 PM, we took it, but we really like to eat early, do some adult stuff then go to bed. So later that day I went by the suites restaurant again and the normal Concierge was there, I told her the sub she had working told us she could only get us in at 9 and I was wondering if there were any cancellations ? She seemed surprised did some typing and said 6 PM was not a problem.

On this upcoming X cruise we have a 3 dinner specialty package, should we call Captains Club for reservations or use the MC Concierge ?

We took our daughter and family to Bermuda last summer. Our granddaughters were 4 and 2. Used Michaels many times, it was always empty. The hostess spoiled the girls.

Was that Maja? She was such a doll!

We are hoping that she will again be on the Summit this summer when we sail her in July.
