cruising deacon Posted February 20, 2017 #26 Share Posted February 20, 2017 Where is this auto-pay option? I looked on my cruise personalizer and didn't see it; is it hiding someplace else? I called Princess directly and had them add it to said cruise. They sent me two emails, one when I added the AUTOPAYMENT and another when the AUTOPAYMENT WAS MADE. caribill Posted February 21, 2017 #27 Share Posted February 21, 2017 We paid down payment last summer with final payment due on a month. Now they have their anniversary special with OBCs. I have a call in to TA to see if we qualify. I think this special may go by date booked so we'll be SOL. You should be able to switch to the new promotion by just asking. You will get the amenities that go with the new promotion, but will lose any amenities that were with your original booking unless they also exist with the current promotion. Yosef42 Posted February 21, 2017 #28 Share Posted February 21, 2017 I called Princess and had them add it to my booking right before I left on said cruise, there was not an online option that I knew of. I will tell you that they send me a new 'Booking Confirmation' email when I did this which stated in the NOTICES section ' Per your request, the credit card registered will automatically be charged when final payment is due ;. When they posted the final payment I received a 'Autocharge Final Payment' email which stated in the PAYMENT DETAILS section ' PER YOUR REQUEST, THE CREDIT CARD REGISTERED HAS BEEN AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED FOR THE AMOUNT OF $xxxx.xx ' Thanks! I may call and take advantage of this, but I'm glad I wasn't overlooking something.
Lucky TGO Posted February 21, 2017 #29 Share Posted February 21, 2017 I never pay in advance I can't see the advantage in doing so. I always tell people do what you think is best for you. Tony
DrivesLikeMario Posted February 21, 2017 #30 Share Posted February 21, 2017 I should know this by now, but I don't. Our cruise balance is due June 17. It's now down to an amount that we could pay in a lump sum. Is there any advantage or any disadvantage to doing that? Thanks. One of my finals is due about the same time as yours. I've already paid it. I've paid for air for our 3 upcoming cruises already too, plus independent tours, got my foreign currency, etc. I like paying for things when I have the money for them. There are advantages - like the points earned on my credit card - and peace of mind knowing it's all done. If I see a lower price between now and the final payment, I'll weigh out the perks with the new pricing and the possible loss of the ones I already have with the higher price. If it's to my advantage, I'll get the lower price. It's not like $20,000 is going to get a great interest rate at the bank in the next 4 months!! It's peanuts! Pay one off, move on to another. Doesn't do me any good sitting in a bank account these days.

kjg46 Posted February 22, 2017 #33 Share Posted February 22, 2017 EZ air If you do not want to wait to get your seating assignment on some airlines. (Princess EZ air has you wait until 45 days prior to the departure date of your cruise). If you pay the entire balance early and waive the flexible part you can get your airline booking number and select your seats through your selected airline. It works for me as the flight s we wanted had limited seats available.
antsp Posted February 22, 2017 #34 Share Posted February 22, 2017 We like to pay it off it in bits and peaces, makes the balance drop away and feels like almost a free cruise, 100 here 100 there, it's soon gone.
