Taking our first X cruise in Silhouette Sky Suite. What goes on in Michael's Club that makes it so special, please? Also, what are the buffet hours in the evening? Are there any other food venues that we should know about, besides specialty restaurants, coffee bar and Lumenai (sp)?

There are a limited number of people in Michael's Club since it's exclusively for suite guests (with some exceptions), so the bar service is generally top notch and they aim to please. There is a cooler with soft drinks and water that you can pull product from as well as a Nespresso coffee machine. The suites concierge is located there, and they can be your main customer service point of contact for reservations, issues, or questions. Sometimes there are music acts or other special events that are open for suite guests only (schedule will be posted by the concierge). Downsides are that there is usually not much of a crowd there except right before meals or during the musical events, so the space is often empty if you pop in any other time. Oh, they just started hosting an afternoon tea as well (partly to address the under-utilization, I'm sure). There is also not any type of view to be had so you feel like you're in an interior room.

You should consider eating in Luminae for several meals rather than the buffet. It really is a top-notch dining venue overall, and you're paying a premium to have access to it. You'll be able to see the dinner menus in advance. You can also order from the main dining room menu if they're serving stuff you don't think you'll like. Plenty of threads on here that provide menus and pictures if you want a better idea.

The menus for Luminae and the MDR should be available in Michael's Club every day so you can look them over and decide if it's worth trying. You can order off either menu in Luminae, although we didn't find the waiters too quick to tell us that so you may have to ask. Specialty restaurant menus are also available there to look over. I agree with the above poster, you are paying a premium for the right to eat in Luminae with your suite fare so you should at least give it a try.

We love the club ambiance of Michael's. Although how busy it has been has varied from cruise to cruise it is always comfortable and welcoming.

You meet up with fellow cruisers on boarding with a glass of champagne, enjoy pre and post dinner socialising and get spoilt rotten by bar staff who will ensure your favourite tipple is next to you almost before you are seated! If you can't decide what to drink they will suggest some alternatives and deliver with a tasty little nibble!

Then there is the concierge....problem with a shore excursion? Sorted. Your OBC not posted? Sorted. Bridge tour? No problem....

Although we have a premium package we will often drink mostly in Michael's. Great for a post breakfast coffee, a return to the ship drink, pre and post dinner drinks, final nightcap...

Enjoy!

Re places to dine...don't forget room service! Nothing nicer than breakfast on the balcony, enjoying lunch on a sea day watching the waves or having a romantic balcony dinner served up by your butler.

MC is usually quite deserted, fine for intimate conversation in a turn of the last century gentleman's club. When there are a number of people there, we have found them interesting company. There can be entertainment, but invariably, we are leaving for dinner when the show starts. Luminae is OK but on a longer cruise it's nice to dine in Murano or even Qsine for a change. The concierge in MC has been very helpful in arranging events off ship, incidentally.

We usually cruise with Princess, but are taking our first Celebrity cruise (Celebrity Millennium) soon and I am completely completely clueless about dining options. We are in a standard balcony room (verandah).

Beside room service, the MDR and the buffet (of course), what other options (including specialty restaurants) are available for the hoi poloi like us?

This was lovely to read and makes me so excited for my Sky Suite in December!

I know you've had different experiences but the bridge tour is not an automatic. They will try but it's up to the captain, and the captain last February on Reflection didn't allow tours during our cruise.

There's the pool grill for hamburgers and hot dogs and the spa cafe. Haven't been on Millie lately, but assume they have 2 specialty restaurants, probably Qsine and Tuscan.

I know on 7 day cruises it can be more difficult, quite simply less sea days. Also Reflection has significantly more suites than other ships...Perhaps on your cruise there was a legistical issue you were unaware of. Certainly we have never been refused.

My advice would be to register your interest with the Michael's Club host on boarding. Also worth a chat with the Captain's Club host for not suite guests...

What is served at the spa cafe?
I wish I could be more specific but I had salmon many days on our last cruise in October on the Equinox. There are items to choose from under glass but you can also order from a centrally posted board. The offerings are limited but salmon was always available. I found it much easier to eat "clean" there than anywhere else.
