Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 7, 2017 Author #77 Share Posted March 7, 2017 Yay! Another live thread from Andrew to follow! Safe travels! Welcome back! Following along, we're on Harmony in April. Sent from my SM-G920T using Forums mobile app Hope it amps you up! Nexus is great, totally worth the $50/5 years even if you only cross 1-2 times a year. Our son was born in June of 2015 and he had a passport and nexus by October..;p Great purchase indeed. Between you and the Villain, you are helping me with my annus horribilus. 2017 is to be known as the year we only cruised once. The agony, the despair. But wait - two live reviews complete with squatty potties to carry me through. have a great time. I'll be virtually following you around - except on the flowrider. I envision myself slamming into a wall at warp speed so I'll just watch. Sufferage I tell yah. The sacrifices the Villain and I make. We are here to please. Safe travels and enjoy your trip.:) Thanks. Good Afternoon Andrew, Lisa, and Owen! Looking forward to your LIVE posts, awesome pics, and the 'scopes. Have a great cruise! Thanks the plan.:) Sent from my iPad using Forums

Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 7, 2017 Author #83 Share Posted March 7, 2017 Dr Ho would be proud. Mine was gone one in minutes. It tasted better than it looks. The lady beside me, being Lisa, is still nibbling. Somehow Owen still was able to pack more in. We are doomed in 5 years. dani negreanu Posted March 7, 2017 #86 Share Posted March 7, 2017 live2cruise, I am sorry to read about your son and his passing. It is physically the three of us going on this cruise but in reality there is a another one with us in spirit. We had a daughter, Allie, who was born with health challenges that she could not over come. She passed 2 days after her second birthday and as hard as it is to admit, we know she is in a better place. Owen was five when this happened and thankfully he was just old enough to remember her./quote] A & L, I had tiers in my eyes when I've read your post about Allie a few months ago (I think the one when the 4 of you went on a cruise together and the waiters were very kind to Allison), and I have them now. The moment I've seen the post of live2cruise, I knew it will remind you about your much loved and lost little Allie. Here in Israel we're more "used" to losing young one in wars and military actions than to Mother Nature. And, on another note -- from last November I've kept telling myself "when A & L next cruise is on, ours will be just 2 weeks around the corner" :D Have a blast, Dani
Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 7, 2017 Author #87 Share Posted March 7, 2017 So I have another thing I will admit. I don’t have a fear of heights, after all I have bungee jumped, have no problem on the Space Deck at the CN Tower and can stand on the edge of a building with little to no concern. I do have some trepidation though when it comes to crossing large and long bridges, such as the the Mackinac Bridge in Michigan. I think it exists in part due to the old Sunshine Skyway Bridge that spanned Tampa Bay. The first time I ever crossed that bridge was in December of 1980. That was months after it was damaged and collapsed after being struck by a freighter. I was almost ten and old enough to know what happened and what it meant. To see the missing span right outside my car window is a lasting memory, especially knowing the outcome of the event. Obviously it still sticks with me today. I know when we cross the bridge today I will be thinking about that day in May. My thoughts to all whose lives were effected by that day. I guess this pic goes to show you don't know when your time is up, a theme that has come up a few times this review. It might also make you think twice when your service tech suggests a brake service. The "new" bridge is a sight to behold. cruisincha Posted March 7, 2017 #88 Share Posted March 7, 2017 My SIL's father was in the car directly behind the one that almost went over. I remember that morning like it was yesterday. Trish
Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 7, 2017 Author #89 Share Posted March 7, 2017 Might be time for a little shamming. If you are gonna take your shoes off and put your feet up, make sure your socks don't have a hole over your toe. It's like she is flipping the middle toe. [emoji33] There probably is a guy in the row behind me commenting about how fast the guy in front of him ate, and didn't breath between bites. Ken at the beach Posted March 7, 2017 #93 Share Posted March 7, 2017 He had breakfast. Now early lunch. We know we will be fed on the flight. Good lord, he's only 9. I think they made Costco for families with teenaged boys. Edit: Get ready RC, stock up more food. The boy is coming. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Just wait until he becomes a teenager. It's like they have tapeworms starting at about 13.

Obviously it still sticks with me today. I know when we cross the bridge today I will be thinking about that day in May. Sent from my iPad using Forums I know I shouldn't be making light of this, but here goes... We jokingly blamed my parents on this happening. They were on their East Coast tour, driving from RI to my brother's new place in Tampa. The day after they left RI, my other brother's dryer caught on fire. Fortunately, except for the dryer, no harm done. We were living in Manassas, Virginia, at the time and commuting to DC every day. More on that later. They drove to Ft. Lauderdale to visit my mother's sisters. I believe right after they left there were some riots in the area. Then they drove to Tampa. Day after they left, the freighter struck the bridge. On the way north on I-95, they stopped overnight at "South of the Border," right on the border of SC and NC. The day they checked out, a rare tornado went through SoB. They get to our house in Manassas (they had the key). Phone rings -- well before answering machines (at least for us) and/or caller ID, so, of course, Mom answers. A woman tells her that she just saw the accident that Pat (my DH) had been in that morning on the way into DC and so sorry he was killed. Nope. Yes, he was in that accident, but no one was killed and only one of the five commuters in the car spent time in the hospital. His suit was ripped and the car landed on his glasses. Can you imagine being on the receiving end of that phone call? That was the last of their calamities of that trip. I'm happy to say they made it back to RI in one piece, without leaving any disasters in their wake. We had crossed the bridge on I-95, near Greenwich, CT, just hours before it collapsed in 1983. We rarely drive to RI anymore (preferring to fly instead), but I got an uneasy feeling every time we crossed it after that. Have fun with the folks!! P.S. I saw that cruise ship right away. Think I may need a cruise? Still so far away!
Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 8, 2017 Author #98 Share Posted March 8, 2017 Welcome to all the newbies. Our rental car wasn't ready so they upgraded us at no charge. It will cost a lot in gas, but there is plenty of room for luggage. They selected an Oasis Class Ford Expedition (giant SUV) for us. The good thing is we have large truck on the farm so the size doesn't bother me. Pics from the road. Made it. What a day of travel. Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 8, 2017 Author #100 Share Posted March 8, 2017 First priority a walk, and that felt great. Followed by some food porn, I mean subsistence. Stuffed Mushrooms. Pizza. Veal parmigiana. Chicken Gnocchi. There was even some weeds, also known as a salad. All washes down with milk and sodas. It was delicious.
