Why am I just now realizing there's Carnival gift cards?

I so wish I knew those existed before paying for the trip on my debit card! At least I know before making the trip! I can get the gift cards at my grocery store, pay for my excursions before we leave, and get gas perks! THEN, get more cards before we board and use that as our room account money for more gas perks?! It's like a whole new world! Oh man!

There are a lot of threads on here about AARP & Verizon gift cards at a 10% discount. We all flock to them when they come out every few weeks. You get $100 gift cards for $90 and $500 gift cards for $450. Best way to pay for your cruise!

As mentioned, you can only get the discounted gift cards online. However you can get gift cards at Kroger and get 4x fuel points when getting them. ;)

Just that if you are owed a refund for something, they refund to the original form of payment. So make sure you don't throw away the original gift cards themselves.

These are not reloadable. If you are due a refund, Carnival will mail you a new gift card in the amount of the refund, if you paid for it using a gift card.

And Verizon is sold out of them most of the time:(!! Seems like Verizon could, would and should try to keep the Carnival cards in stock:0!!

I've recently purchased my Carnival G.C.'s at Lowes Home Improvement (up to $500 each card) with my Lowes store credit card they always have interest free payments on any purchases of $299 or more for 6 months. Sometimes they have longer interest free periods at higher dollar amounts (example $999+ purchase for 12 months interest free etc).

 

I purchases G.C.'s recently to pre-pay Cheers and I'll bring the remaining balances on board to load to my on board account and pay it off over the 6 months interest free with auto-payments. Just have to remember to pay it off on time!

I looked it up on our grocery store and they give 20 cents off per gallon of gas for every $50 in gift cards you spend. Our trip is paid off, with one excursion and our drink packages and tips prepaid. But we can at least get some for the other excursions not planned yet, and for spending money :)

As with everything Carnival, that is not always the case. :p The last few times I was mailed a check.

 

all I know is that every time i see a post on this... Verizon is sold out.

 

It pays to just keep checking yourself also. On the Verizon app, online, CruiseCritic; its maddening I tell you. lol

Just checked online and it says our kroger doesn't have them. :( But I am checking our Citi easydeals to see if I find anything.

 

I bought them in Kroger in January, bought a $500 card got 2,000 points for 2 fill ups at $1 per gallon off, and I used my Amex Delta card so I got airline miles.

This has been my experience as well.

 

Isn't there a way to load money onto your casino account and then just cash out before disembarking? I thought that's what I understood from other threads.

You have to load it to your casino account, play a few spins and cash out at the casino cage. If there is any remaining balance on your S&S account, they will mail you a GC for the balance provided it's over $10 as anything under goes to St Jude.
