Taishartrueblood Posted March 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2017 (edited) Is it noisy? I know that we can see inside, but is it worth it? Anything to see? We are on Adventure of the Sea btw. What should I know? :p Thanks! Edited March 16, 2017 by Taishartrueblood
lbjen Posted March 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2017 The only real advantage that I know of is that you get a window, but it's obviously not a window to the actual outside and you do lose some privacy. It's possibly also more centrally located than your inside cabin may be, but that would depend on which inside cabin you're looking at.
leinhto Posted March 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 16, 2017 Would take a promenade over inside any day. More light, love the bench in front the window, more to see if you like o people watch. I didn't have any problem with noise even during parade.

FunCruiser56 Posted March 16, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 16, 2017 An inside cabin is like a cave and you never see the light of day ;) A promenade cabin has a window with a nice seat to watch all the happenings in the Royal Promenade. Of course if you leave your curtains open you will loose some privacy, just flip them closed! No noise problems, our sons slept well.. gqboy1 Posted March 16, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 16, 2017 We were initially concerned it would be too noisy for our toddler and baby. However they were fine and liked looking out of the window at times. Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Forums mobile app
Rare Rogueperson Posted March 16, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 16, 2017 For us, we prefer interiors without windows. The absolute darkness is awesome. The only good thing about the promenade is the fact that you can enjoy the promenade shows without dealing with the crowds. But I would not pay extra for a promenade vs. an normal interior. Taishartrueblood Posted March 16, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted March 16, 2017 Thanks, we are going to be on Deck 7. We usually get balcony staterooms but we never actually use the balcony so it didn't seem worth it.
mad-dog74 Posted March 16, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 16, 2017 We've had promenade rooms on 3 occasions.. we like them. Never had noise issues on any ship!
mikebz Posted March 16, 2017 #11 Share Posted March 16, 2017 We tried a promenade stateroom on Voyager. The noise was not bad at all, a little larger with the window seat, and you can people watch. That being said, I do not know if I would book one again, I would prefer an oceanview balcony. The one thing they do is adjust the lighting on the promenade for the time of day, so it is brighter during the day, and darker at night. Try it to see if you like it. davekathy Posted March 17, 2017 #12 Share Posted March 17, 2017 We would do a regular inside over a promenade inside any day!
Virtopia Posted March 17, 2017 #13 Share Posted March 17, 2017 I've never been in a promenade cabin but I have one booked for my siblings on our future Adventure cruise. It was cheaper than an inside at the time and I figured they would enjoy it for their first cruise :) I'm looking forward to seeing it.
spookwife Posted March 17, 2017 #14 Share Posted March 17, 2017 I actually like the Promenades and I won't sail n anything but suites. They really aren't that noisy and the window seat is a great feature Sent from my iPad using Forums
renjrusa Posted March 17, 2017 #15 Share Posted March 17, 2017 We are staying in our first promenade room on our next Adventure of the Seas cruise. It was such a good deal and something different than the balcony room...
Clarea Posted March 17, 2017 #16 Share Posted March 17, 2017 (edited) I don't like the layout or the lack of privacy. If I could not do an OV, then I'd stick with an inside. Edited March 17, 2017 by clarea
davekathy Posted March 17, 2017 #17 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Not me. I don't like the layout or the lack of privacy. If I could not do an OV, then I'd stick with an inside. I believe that's what I said.

Regards I have a promenade room booked for the first time on my next cruise. I am glad to hear they adjust the lighting based on the time of day. On my last cruise, I could not stand the inside cabin without a window because it was impossible to tell day from night and would throw me off every morning. JustinCMH Posted March 17, 2017 #20 Share Posted March 17, 2017 I absolutely need day/night cycling. Even the lighting from the promenade allows me to have that. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
luvscruising2007 Posted March 17, 2017 #21 Share Posted March 17, 2017 We were in a promenade room and we would book one again. No noise issues and privacy is available when you keep your drapes closed. We missed the balcony we usually book but it was a good experience. didicruiser Posted March 17, 2017 #22 Share Posted March 17, 2017 If I do not book a balcony, I get a Promenade room. I love the window seat to people watch or see the parade.
cruzinlisa Posted March 17, 2017 #23 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Promenade was not an option for me with 3, but if it had been I probably would have booked it just to check it out. I am also interested in the boardwalk or central park balconies on Oasis class, just to see what it is like. I don't mind an inside room with the darkness. I sleep much better. If it were a port intensive cruise I would not want one though- I would sleep all the time. I am one of those people who wakes up about 5 or so to go to the bathroom. If natural light hits my eyes, it is over for me. Even a tiny bit. Artificial light (like the bathroom light) does not do it for me. We have two windows in our bedroom right by our bed. I get no sleep on the weekends. On a cruise on a sea day, I could sleep until 9 or even (gasp) 10. What is even better is... SO DOES MY DAUGHTER (who is now 6). And unlike most kids (insert sarcastic wink here ;)), she is a bear when she does not get enough sleep. Taishartrueblood Posted March 17, 2017 Author #24 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Great info, ty! BTW, if you give your 6 year old daughter a jello shot before she goes to bed then she may sleep better. Mywildlove Posted March 20, 2017 #25 Share Posted March 20, 2017 My husband and I had our honeymoon on Marnier and had a Promenade room. The room we had was right over the bar which had loud live music til 2:00am or later every night. It made it hard to sleep. Plus after a few days it started to make us cranky because it was like living next to really crappy loud neighborhoods. Or I guess in this case above. Other than that, we were glad to have the little extra room that the window seat provided. It was nice to have a great view of the parades. Also, if I ever wanted something from the cafe promenade I could look out the window to see if it was crowded (also not a far walk either). We both enjoyed people watching specially my husband while he would wait for me to get ready.
