SeahawkSiren Posted January 8, 2018 #2201 Share Posted January 8, 2018 I sadly had to give up the June 9 B1 reservation I made last January for only $2,019 PP because my group decided to delay a year. At the time I booked, the aft balcony was only about a $70 premium over the standard balcony price, but for my new 2019 sailing it's a nearly $500 premium. So, while I am saving about $100 per person I had to compromise and booked an angled balcony instead. Wow! Sorry you had to delay a year, but thanks for the pricing info. And at least you will be going to Glacier Bay in 2019 which we we are not this year. I am actually fine with that as we have already been to GB. We are going to Tracy Arm/Sawyer Glacier (or apparently Dawes Glacier if Sawyer is still too iced up), neither of which we have been to before. We enjoy different places and look forward to something new this year. When we booked the B1 last year the BA was only $30 pp cheaper so it was a no brainer for us to book B1. Enjoy your cruise on the Bliss next year! :)

rachelfran Posted January 8, 2018 #2203 Share Posted January 8, 2018 maybe too soon for a question like this but we may take this ship to alaska in july 2019 and my husband is an avid birdwatcher ... We took Princess a few years ago to alaska and he spend most of the onboard time on various decks with a spotting scope and binoculars. He was not alone as there were others doing the same. They were always able to find out of the way areas that others did not go ... I can't tell from the photos if there is much access to the outside decks beyond where lots of others will be congregating... Does anyone know more based on any images or layouts that you've seen? I know he would be very disappointed to travel all this way to find he can't find any quiet or outdoor viewing for this purpose. Thanks!

We booked in January of 2017 for Panama Canal November 2018 and with less than a year to go, we're doing pretty good with the anticipation :)

I think the only decks he will have for observing will be deck 8 the "waterfront/promenade", deck 17, and Spice H2O(aft). There is also the forward lounge and buffet as well, but they are enclosed. Donna_In_India Posted January 8, 2018 #2207 Share Posted January 8, 2018 Trying to figure out some things...we're booked for 8/18 - wouldn't have been my choice for my immediate family but we are going with extended family members and this Alaskan cruise was chosen. Extremely disappointed that there isn't a pool with a retractable roof other than the one for Haven cruisers. IMO - pretty shabby planning if you're building a ship specifically for half the year in Alaska. Now I'm trying to figure out the lounges - is the multi-story lounge for viewing for everyone or Haven only? Are there going to be any parties similar to what are/were on Breakaway/Getaway? I see there isn't anything like the Cirque shows...anything in the way of family entertainment? Also - what is the likelihood of being able to use the go-carts/laser tag in Alaska? Both of my previous Alaskan cruises were excursion oriented - now have an 8 year-old whose loves to swim and see shows (such as those on RCI's Oasis class ships). Thanks! gambit57 Posted January 8, 2018 #2215 Share Posted January 8, 2018 They have claimed 30mph (using the "boost" function for up to 3 seconds) but I have also seen 30kph (just under 19mph). An article posted.... The first round was painfully slow, puncturing my fantasies of hurtling down the tracks. But that was just to familiarize us with the route -- and it turned out to be an essential part of the process. A practice run mean that fewer drivers end up crashing into the sides as they make (unsuccessful) turns. As we moved into the second and third rounds, we started picking up speed and that's when the thrills began. The less experienced drivers eventually ran into problems with the tighter turns and caused some congestion, but it cleared up pretty quickly with the help of a staff member. - CNET Thanks. I hope it's 30 mph. 19 isn't that much faster than the 12 my kids can already do, although I suppose taking a turn in a go kart at 19 mph would be quite intense for non-racers. It's already a good amount of g-force at 12 mph. A boost mode would be a good idea. Like in Mario Kart or other racing games, it'll add a new wrinkle into the racing. TheDougOut Posted January 8, 2018 #2217 Share Posted January 8, 2018 Does anyone know where Happy Hour Prohibition will be located on the Bliss? I believe it was originally destined for Alibi Nightclub, which I believe has become Social Nightclub. From the April press release: In a new concept exclusive to Norwegian Bliss, the Alibi is a reimagined comedy and nightclub space that will feature sets from today’s most popular stand-up comedians, and then transform to a chic nightclub late in the evening. Alibi will feature two comedy performances six nights a week, offering both family-friendly and mature comedy shows. Guests who visit the swanky club will find intimate seating and cocktail tables during comedy performances, while those who visit Alibi after 10 p.m. will be captivated by the lounge’s black and white chevron patterned dancefloor, LED disco lighting and a DJ spinning today’s hottest hits. Norwegian Bliss’ guests will have the opportunity to travel back in time to January 16, 1919 – the eve of the Prohibition era – for a rowdy good time with the new show, Happy Hour Prohibition- The Musical. Created by Broadway sensations Holly-Anne Palmer, whose creative talent has been featured in hits like Bring It On and Jersey Boys, among others, as well as Liz Muller and Collin Simon of Pipe Dream Theatre, Happy Hour Prohibition – The Musical will hit the high seas after delighting audiences for nearly two years in New Orleans and New York City. Guests will join the talented cast in Miss Lulu’s infamous New Orleans speakeasy, Mahogany Hall, as they entertain with tales of bootleggers and intoxicating choreography by Broadway veteran Lauren Lim Jackson, set to some of the era’s most famous tunes including Let’s Misbehave, Happy Feet and Makin’ Whoopee. During the one hour performance, guests will savor their own Prohibition era specialty cocktails, each with a modern twist. The show will be performed on select evenings as a happy hour pre-dinner show and once each cruise as a late night adults-only show in the Alibi Comedy and Nightclub. TheDougOut Posted January 10, 2018 #2224 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Back in August we speculated that the casino will have an enclosed smoking section based on this added wall on the deck plan: I’m not sure if we’ve noticed this yet, but if you look closely at the far-left side of this rendering of the Skyline bar... ...you’ll see a vertical line between what appears to be two panes of glass... At least within the renderings, NCL has solved what many consider to be a big flaw with the BA/BA+ ships... and that’s the stale smoke smell lingering throughout 6-7-8 Ocean Place. Diane123boys Posted January 10, 2018 #2225 Share Posted January 10, 2018 I am a gambler (sort of ) and a former smoker and man the stale and current smoke from those areas was terrible!
