Life is Good Cruising Posted March 30, 2017 #401 Share Posted March 30, 2017 Thanks Linda - (our next scheduled cruise on Anthem is the New Year's cruise.) A few more on other Royal ships before that. For you its easy to go on the Anthem.... for us - its an airplane to all ports... I know it's a plane ride for you. I will ask Andy about NYE for you. Life is Good Cruising Posted March 30, 2017 #403 Share Posted March 30, 2017 Great info! Will have to check him out. In the casino to boot, interesting, did not see any performers there yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk They don't have singers in the casino and only make an exception for Andy, he is that good. I don't believe they indicate Andy's singing in the Cruise Planner. I'm pretty sure Andy will sing on night 2 in the casino, not sure of the other night he's going to sing, you can also find out from the Casino Host Christina, tell Christina that Linda told me to ask you :), she knows me. Thank you.... You're welcome my friend :)

ETski Posted March 30, 2017 #408 Share Posted March 30, 2017 Thanks for the info! We assumed it was reservations first like many shows. Heading there now! Thanks again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks again for the best review ever!!!! We are on the Anthem in 30 days. Your review is getting us so excited. I went to the cruise planner to see if you could book for the cover band and didn't see it. Wondering if booking is only onboard.
Life is Good Cruising Posted March 30, 2017 #409 Share Posted March 30, 2017 (edited) Thanks again for the best review ever!!!! We are on the Anthem in 30 days. Your review is getting us so excited. I went to the cruise planner to see if you could book for the cover band and didn't see it. Wondering if booking is only onboard. You do not have to book to see the Tribute band in the Music Hall or in Two70, just show up, but get there early for a good seat. The times will be listed in the cruise planner. You would only need a reservation for the 3 Production shows which are, WWRY, The Gift and Spectra. The other Headliners that perform on other nights, do not need reservations. I went to the cruise planner to see if you could book for the cover band and didn't see it. Wondering if booking is only onboard. Thanks glad it is so enjoyable! I think the cover band shows do not require reservations, at least not last night so assume all of them are first come first serve at least as pertains to the cover bands in 270. I know spectra cabaret Show required reservations in 270 the other night. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
njboyindc Posted March 30, 2017 #411 Share Posted March 30, 2017 Thanks for great posts. Can you keep us updated about the propulsion issue? Has it been fixed? I am on next week's sailing and have things planned in each of the ports so hoping they don't switch up the schedule again. Thanks!

Jerseygirl1416 Posted March 30, 2017 #415 Share Posted March 30, 2017 First, I want to thank you, Seadog for taking the time to share all this information. This IMHO is the best live review since Doug did the NCL Escape live. I feel like I'm cruising along with you! And I must say you're killing my diet with the food porn. In a past review I had read about lounge chairs for rent by the day. They said they were by the North Star. Have you seen these? Any information on them like price and where to go to reserve? I you could get a picture I'd be very grateful. Thanks again and I'm glad you're having a great time. Hopefully your back will cooperate going forward. I am on next week's sailing and have things planned in each of the ports so hoping they don't switch up the schedule again. Thanks! I sure will provide any updates they provide as to the status. I also assume we will know if we return to faster cruising speeds on the return to Bayonne. Have a great time next week! seadog67 Posted March 30, 2017 Author #417 Share Posted March 30, 2017 The view from the Northstar is awesome. Will you be going up again in another port? Probably not tomorrow as we are hopefully going to Cocoa Beach for a visit and the last sea-day there is a lot we have seen on the ship yet so may be trying to see as much as possible. I will hopefully try it again in Bermuda in a bit over a month so lets see then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
RRLLAL Posted March 30, 2017 #418 Share Posted March 30, 2017 I have to say, we have been extremely lucky to have sailed quite a few times now in our life and on a few different ships, and not trying to throw shade at Anthem, but as calm as it has been sea-wise, the ship swayed a lot in minor swells, so much that it was asked multiple times during our tour of the staff. Also our cabin is the creakiest cabin we have had on any ship, in any weather. We have gotten used to it but it is noticeable coming from the structure. Just a bit surprised is all, certainly not impacting our fun or sleep at all. And about the bed, after 3 nights sleep we actually have slept well and it is comfortably firm, so it is not, to us overly firm just firmer than our home bed but ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Don't mean to jump into your review, but we're on this cruise too. What one employee told me (which doesn't make it fact) was that when they lost one of the propulsion engines, they took in the/or a stabilizer just to be able to go 15 knots. Usually it is 21 knots and if they used the stabilizers it would be even less than 15 knots. Since the seas have been calm allowed them to do this without a huge negative impact. If so, it probably explains the swaying in very calm seas. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

There is an area by the NS that is reserved, I will try to get a picture and info so check back. Here is a bit more food porn. Had a quick bite to eat from the Windjammer. These 2 bite meatball and pulled pork sliders were delicious. I had several of each... Meatball was excellent 10 out of 5 Forks! Pulled Pork excellent as well 5 out of 5 Forks! Are you sure? WANTED is on for the April 2nd cruise and I read they will be on the entire month of April. Seems weird WANTED would come one for one week, then leave for a week, then come back? I dunno, maybe :) Edited to add: Just looked up WANTED from Los Angeles. I have en email from Royal Caribbean saying they will be on the April 2nd cruise. According to the bands web page, they will be on the Anthem April 29th also. Looks like they do come and go by the week?
