Copper... what kind of propulsion does the Coasties boat have? He was literally spinning doughnuts off the stern of Zuidy a few minutes ago.

Those bad boys can move Leon; three 300 horsepower (220 kW) Mercury outbooard engines. They'll turn on a dime and that forward gunner needs to hold on to his M240 or he'll go swimming

A very prolonged departure - no pressure I guess.

Kia ora Phil; Could be late loading of stores, waiting for an important part or piece of equipment, waiting for late arriving pax, last minute medical disembark, a variety of things

Kia ora to you John. I am going to catch a bus into town shortly, so hope Zdam moves soon.

But wouldn't the skipper update the harbormaster as to the reason for the delay? We've often heard them doing that.

My guess; that's already been done by Zuidy's onboard pilot probably via cell phone. The harbor pilots are in constant contact with that white tower/blue roof/blue antenna mast just to ZUDM's left which is where the harbormaster and his staff work out of. In this case, they can literally look each other in the eye. That particular berth is the closest to the HM tower

OK, thanks. Just thought it was weird 'cause the port schedule still shows 1615 departure confirmed.
