Our flight into Fll on Saturday, the day before our cruise may be cancelled

due to the snow coming.

If we can get out Sunday morning what time do you need to checked in onboard by?

Thanks ahead. Bummed

This can vary slightly by cruise line, but a good rule is to be at the port 90 minutes before the cruise is scheduled to depart. Your cruise line will have an emergency phone number (which is usually in your pre cruise information) which is good to have on your phone. If you realize you might miss the ship or even be cutting it real close, immediately call the line's emergency number to explain your situation. In might help. Ships have held up their departure (especially in FL ports) for late arrivals...although this is not something you can take to the bank. But if they are aware of your situation it does put the ball in their court.

That happened to us once.

I called the airline (Delta) and they were happy to switch us to an earlier flight (think tonight) for no charge .

For them it was 2 less people they had to find places for AFTER the snow.

Weather is unpredictable. Glad it worked out for OP to switch..Flexibility is the key.

We switched to earlier flights once , NY to FLL ( extra cost for air and hotel)....we left 2 extra days ahead of an ice storm. Glad we did b/c we arrived without weather delay..had a nice hotel room and others were not so lucky!

Another time we actually switched to the day of the cruise due to snow delay on our orig early dates. Surprisingly, although we were stressed out, it worked well..and we were able to sign up for Royal transp to ship at the airport..they took our luggage and it was already at our stateroom when we arrived...

I would opt for a flight a flight as soon as possible. Waiting for the day of the cruise can have problems. We had a 10:30 AM flight from Philadelphia to Miami. After several delays we arrived in Miami at 4:20 PM. A lightning storm hit, and they delayed unloading luggage. The Royal contact kept telling us we had to go - without our luggage. We refused since our first stop was 3 days later in St. Martin.

Before we left Philadelphia, our son contacted Royal and they said the would allow us to board until 5:00 instead of 4:30.

I tipped the porter $20 to stay with us, then with our luggage we headed to the bus. Another $20 to the driver to get us there by 5:00.

It was 4:55 when we rushed through luggage scanning - up the stairs for seapass cards, and up the ramp at 4:58 to be greeted by our friends. TOO much stress.

As it was they delayed departure for an extra 45 minutes for others who had been on our flight.

Never will sail on the same day if I am depending on a flight.
