FLL taxi fare

I was wondering if taxi fares from Port Everglades have changed. In February our group divided up leaving the port. My husband and I went by taxi to the airport, another individual went by taxi to the Amtrak station and a third individual took a 3rd taxi to a hotel. Upon entering the taxis the meter registered $23.70. This amount never changed and is what each of us was charged. No more metering charges by distance?

Nope, everywhere should be metered. if when you first get into the taxi the driver doesn't restart the meter ask them to start the meter before leaving and get out if possible or let them know you will be talking to the police before you get out at your stop

If you can fit into a taxi, use an Uber, you won't get scammed. Taxis are horrible in South Florida.

I would go with Uber before a taxi as well. It'd be almost half the cost, much cleaner too.
