thesmiths Posted April 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2017 Curious to hear what people have asked for. In the past it was extra pillows and keep the ice filled in the PM. And always handing a $20.00 bill upon meeting.
Keys2Heaven Posted April 11, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2017 The only thing we've asked for is that the mini-fridge is emptied out for our water and that we have ice daily. Tip is usually at the end, but may slip a $20 when we embark this year.

debster11 Posted April 11, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 11, 2017 I'll usually tip $20 upon meeting our steward for the first time. I ask to keep our ice filled. Always have gotten this. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

13cheermom Posted April 11, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 11, 2017 For those that do the pre-tip on first day do you find you get better service for the week? We always tip extra on the next to last night of cruise. Considering splitting it 20/20 instead of typical 40 at end? Any comparison would be appreciated! tea4ular Posted April 11, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 11, 2017 Clear out the mini fridge; ice in our cooler replenished; extra towels - that's about it. We're always courteous, never have had a bad steward experience.
crusinpsychRN Posted April 11, 2017 #11 Share Posted April 11, 2017 Keep collapsible cooler filled. Leave trash can between bed and sofa, not under the counter. Early service if staying aboard in port. Seems now I'll have to ask for a robe.

mom2tcdx2 Posted April 11, 2017 #14 Share Posted April 11, 2017 Pretty much only keeping the ice bucket with ice in it. Occasionally we have had to have the bed arrangement fixed upon arriving, but overall we really don't ask for anything in particular.
Gamecock_Cruiser Posted April 11, 2017 #15 Share Posted April 11, 2017 Just ice... and if I don't have room for a fan, I will request one of those! We roasted at night the last few cruises.
FloridaMommyof3 Posted April 11, 2017 #16 Share Posted April 11, 2017 Tip first day and last. I ask to keep the ice bucket filled. Last cruise I asked for daily towel animals as my son loves them. I got 1 ... 1 darn towel animal the whole cruise. Needless to say, the first day tip was the last one.
Neotericisis Posted April 11, 2017 #17 Share Posted April 11, 2017 Ice and towels. Other than that they won't really hear from us as we are pretty much never in the room We also leave a $20 pre-tip. Our stewards have always been great.
OCruisers Posted April 11, 2017 #18 Share Posted April 11, 2017 Extra towels and washcloths. If robes aren't already in the cabin, we ask for them.:)

SheehanDJ Posted April 11, 2017 #21 Share Posted April 11, 2017 Keep the ice bucket full, leave our towel animals, empty the fridge and remove all counter water, twice a day service, extra towels, money left on the ice tray is their money. We tip $2.00 - $5.00 per day, last day is between $10 and $20 depending how they did. Our experience has been we either get the $2 and $10 at the end steward or the $5 and $20 at the end steward. Don't get me wrong we have never had a bad room steward, it just seems that we get the "doing their job ($2/$10)" or going above and beyond ($5/$20). stargate fan Posted April 11, 2017 #23 Share Posted April 11, 2017 We have list that we leave for our cabin steward: Please make the bed with the duvet under the fitted sheet. Please make the bed with a blanket on top of the bed. Please service the room twice daily. Please leave two Fun Times nightly. Please keep the ice bucket full. Please supply robes. Please supply extra laundry bags and laundry forms. We usually tip on the first day. If service was exceptional, we tip again on the last night. Out of Iowa Posted April 11, 2017 #24 Share Posted April 11, 2017 Beds in configuration requested online (which happens about 1/2 the time; I suspect it's easier for them to leave it as it was for the prior cruisers and hope that's what we, the new occupants, want or will accept). Will leave $20 if the bed needs to be reconfigured on Sail Away Day. Now it sounds like we will be asking for Carnival robes. No ice. No towel animals (but if they are created, they are appreciated). Ajat0921 Posted April 11, 2017 #25 Share Posted April 11, 2017 We are beyond easy, two extra pillows, and in case you see a lost child named Drew, he is ours. But be careful he is Autistic, so he might not respond to verbal commands. Then we cross our fingers that Drew doesn't have a meltdown and wreck the room.
