tonamie Posted April 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2017 We are looking into all forms of transfers: light rail, STILA town car, taxi, shared shuttle, Oceania, and Uber for transportation to/from SEATAC this summer. Has anyone actually used any of these options? What did you like? What didn't you like about your choice (s)? We are not particularly interested in signing up for Oceania's transfers since they seem very pricey. We are looking for reliable transfers considering so many people need transportation on arrival/departure days. Thank you!
RCNslr Posted April 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2017 We have used light rail (excellent) and a taxi (expensive). A short taxi ride from the light rail station to the dock is cheap and vv. have fun.
Gsel Posted April 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2017 We have used "Already There" (Google it) a number of times and been very pleased. They have always been on time, courteous, and the and reasonable.
G&G Posted April 14, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 14, 2017 Used light rail several years ago and it was not good; too far to walk with bags to take rail system and need a cab from drop off to ship. Cabs are pricey from SeaTac to port Best transportation we have found is town car; almost same price as taxi; several companies available.
Hawaiidan Posted April 14, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 14, 2017 tAXI..TAXI tAXI... STEER CLEAR of light rail, and in Seattle steer clear of UBER they have a lot of real freaks working up there..scary people. You don't need the all the hassle and stress after a flight. the few dollars you will save lugging your bags all over and changing will eat up a lot of time. In the end was it worth it to save maybe $20?:(
Glaciers Posted April 14, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 14, 2017 There are dozens of transportation suggestions for Seattle on the West Coast forum. We usually use the light rail for 3 bucks but are usually going to a pre-cruise hotel downtown. It would be just over ½ mile walk, or alternative transportation, from the closest light rail station to Pier 66. Just for the convenience, a taxi, limo, Uber would be better. I’ve never read anything about the Uber drivers in Seattle being freaks, until now. Most of the reviews regarding Uber in Seattle are very good. Although this thread is regarding the other cruise pier, the transportation options provided are the same. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2394417
Rare ronrick1943 Posted April 14, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 14, 2017 Coming in from a flight with cruise luggage, a ptv car service works for us. It's easy and everything is taken care of for you - plus you know the price going in no matter what.
azam71209 Posted April 15, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 15, 2017 We took a taxi, no problem for 4 people. Also picked up a taxi outside the cruise terminal at the end of the cruise. Also easy. Mary
