Carnival's check in times

Carnival has the 'new' check in times which is when you are supposed to check in. The time will be on your boarding pass. We are Diamond so can check in when ever we want but have family cruising with us ( they booked before we knew it). They knew nothing about this so were given 4:30-5pm to check in- 3pm is 1st. Ship is not leaving until 9pm though.

Does Carnival really check your time on your boarding pass and not let you enter the terminal if its not 'your' time?

Yes, they do check.

Check to see if earlier time slots are available.
