britty1 Posted May 12, 2017 #326 Share Posted May 12, 2017 The luau ends at 8:30. If the ship leaves at 11 you will have to be at the dock no later than 10:30. A taxi will take 5 minutes or at worse you can walk back in a half hour. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk Thank you, we will try to get a taxi. britty1 Posted May 12, 2017 #327 Share Posted May 12, 2017 If you can swing it, I definitely recommend it. This luau is far and away the best there is, IMO. They are in the business soley to do luaus. Their property is set up to accommodate guests not only with a very good buffet dinner that is well-organized and tasty, but also a professional show with good sight lines from every table. My guess is that the ship recognizes that people will be at luaus during the evening. They usually end at about 8pm, so that should allow you time to get back to the ship by 11pm. Thank you, I didn't realize they ended early evening but that's a good thing.
PCWalton1 Posted May 12, 2017 Author #328 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Today was one of our highpoints of the cruise and fabulous way to end our 12 days in the Hawaiian islands. We went upcountry again to O'o Farm. It is an organic farm that provides produce for several locations including Pacific O restaurant in Lahaina. It is also a coffee farm and roastery. For our three hours at the farm we were given a tour, we picked the produce for the salad they served us along with other tasty dishes. Here was the view from the area we waited before the tour. Here was our combination tour guide and lunch server. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
PCWalton1 Posted May 12, 2017 Author #329 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Some of the coffee trees they have on the farm. We were shown a variety of trees that I could not begin to tell you what they were. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

PCWalton1 Posted May 12, 2017 Author #332 Share Posted May 12, 2017 You can see Marie had her blue hoodie on much of the time as it was cool up there, about 3500 feet up. They said most days the high temperature is around 10 or 11 in the morning as the clouds roll in during the afternoon The fruit of our bounty. Marie and I didn't pick all this, that is the efforts of 30 novice farmers. Not bad. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
alibabacruisers Posted May 12, 2017 #333 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Thanks for taking us along on your wonderful cruise! Where does the tender drop you off in Lahaina? Did you book the luau with RCI or with the Luau themselves?
PCWalton1 Posted May 12, 2017 Author #334 Share Posted May 12, 2017 We then went to where they processing the coffee cherries and roast the beans. We did not get a complete tour there add the lunch bell rang and we all bailed out to the dining area. This is where it gets embarrassing. I fully intended to take pictures of all the dishes they served. Well, hunger got the better of me and I missed most of them. First was fresh baked sour dough foccasia bread with roasted Maui onions on top. Sorry no pic. Next was the salad we picked dressed with a vinegarette made from ingredients on the farm. Instead of taking a picture of the serving dish I just took a picture of my plate which was not that appetizing. There is a little piece of the bread left. [emoji14] Next was roasted tofu with delicious root vegetables. I wish I could tell you about the seasonings and purees accompanying the dishes but I was too busy eating. This was the fish fish. Mahi Mahi caught that morning with three different types of beets and an avocado puree. As you can see we already demolished it. Last was chicken roasted in the wood oven. There were also some delicious greens under the chicken. I forget what the puree was made of but it was yummy. Oh yes there was also dessert, fresh pineapple and bananas with a chocolate decadence. Served with dessert was French presses of their farm Maui mokka coffee. After dessert Marie and I headed to the roastery where I got a shot of their espresso roast and Marie got a tee shirt. PCWalton1 Posted May 12, 2017 Author #335 Share Posted May 12, 2017 After that we quickly headed back to drop off the rental car and shuttled to the dock where we found this. It really wasn't too bad. From the time we got into the line to the time we boarded a tender was 35 minutes. I guess everyone wanted to spend as much time I our last port as possible. They did have plenty of ice water and cold towels so we were not suffering. All in all it was a great way to end our stay in the islands. Did you book the luau with RCI or with the Luau themselves? Yes the tender drops off in Lahaina Harbor by the banyan tree. To book the Old Lahaina Luau you have to do it directly with them. I think the one offered through the ship is one of the hotel luaus Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

travelgoddess1 Posted May 12, 2017 #340 Share Posted May 12, 2017 As always, great photos! I understand not getting photos of the food -- that is my weakness, as well. I remember halfway through the meal, or not at all. But good memories, nonetheless. I hope you have an amazing 5 days at sea. You're going to continue to post, aren't you, WIFI willing? Again, many thanks!:)

PCWalton1 Posted May 12, 2017 Author #345 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Good morning. Even with the time change last night we were up late. About 9am and we were off to Windjammer for breakfast. This is where I usually start, eggs to order After breakfast we decided to find a table aft of the pool deck to read and relax. Unfortunately it is already starting to get chilly so shortly we moved to the Centrum. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

You could walk but keep in mind on the way there it is a very warm walk. Of course it is an open bar so you will have the refreshments to cool off. Rare bobmacliberty Posted May 12, 2017 #350 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Thanks for the Luau pictures Bill. I've been there twice and would definitely go a third time. The open bar adds to the great food and the fantastic show. :D If you do a land tour in Maui, check out the Flyin Hawaiian Zipline. Amazing zips and incredible views!
