New promo by NCL

I noticed that there was a New promo where NCL pays your taxes and port fees. Do you know if this is a true savings or of the cruise price was raised and the bottom line is the same? Thank you.

Depends on the cruise. Our cruises went up and are more now than what we paid with the taxes. Our taxes are around $300 for each cruise and the price of the cruises have gone up $300pp so not a deal on our cruises.

Some people were talking about this on one of the other threads about the promo. Last time I looked it was like 7 out of 8 said prices had gone up.

We saved about $100 by repricing our Escape cruise for December under this promo.

We have 3 rooms booked on a March 2018 sailing out of NYC. Rebooked all 3 for a savings of $340 per room :)

So far the cruise I've booked and another I'm looking at were higher priced so it was either more or a wash.

I booked on April 5th (for a December cruise), Then a few days later NCL started the promotion, so of course I called. Price stayed the same, but I saved $153.00 on taxes/port charges/fees. It worked for me.

Our 14 day Western Caribbean out of NYC went up significantly when that promo started...so it was not worth rebooking to get it for us. Our original price along with all the bonuses we got ends up being far better.

U.K. They've made it all inclusive. Price ncl uses, tax, port charges, drinks and gratuities. Also includes specialty coffee and bottled water. But it's a lot more money for us than what we paid.

Not a true savings at least in our case, i mocked a re-booking of our upcoming cruise in January, and although there is no tax cost, they increased the cost of the cabin to cover it, similar to what RCCL does.

 

In our case it was only a few dollars difference not worth my time on the phone really.

On our Mediterranean cruise for nov,2018, we saved $400 for my wife and I. Lost a $133 on board credit but still saved $$$

I checked my December cruise. I would have saved $120 dollars and gotten $100 onboard credit. Downside would be losing the double early booking points, due to booking before they changed the latitudes program. 7 latitudes points are more important to me than $220 in savings. I decided to keep my reservation unchanged.

This is the same promo they were running a couple of weeks ago. Brought it back (probably sold a lot of cruises under the promotion).

 

Prices fluctuate based on demand for the cruise. Like any travel-based item, NCL based prices based on a yield management algorithm which maximizes sales based on demand. Airlines, hotels, theme parks, they all do it.

I called about it and my cruise went up 400.00 each person and the ports taxes etc were 160.00. So I dont think its a good deal.

I called last night and we were able to save $396 on our September2018 Baltic cruise and we also got to keep our $100 OBC with the Latitudes offer.
