Do Oceanview Panoramic Suites also get suite benefits?

Recommended Posts

So I did not get double points. I didn't even get my points lol. I had to call them. Last night I booked another cruise in September in the same category. Could not get front and center but I just love these rooms. I still don't think the regular panoramic rooms are anything special. Maybe the 2 family panoramic rooms get the suit category?

According to RC's website, these categories get the extra point per night:

14 One Cruise Point for each completed night of sailing and an extra Cruise Point per night when you purchase and sail in suite accommodations (categories RL, RS, PS, SL, TS, TL, A1, A2, A3, CL, OL, OS, OT, OP, FS, GL, GP, GS, GB, GT, JS, J1, J3, J4, VT, VP, VO, VS, L1, L2) and/or sail in any category and pay a single pricing type for double occupancy staterooms. All other rates including Travel Agent rates are excluded from single price type extra point promotion. Cruisetours are included as an additional night per each day on the cruise tour. Points will be awarded by rate paid not rate berthed, for example, in the instance of an upgrade from an outside to a suite category.

I wish I could find the chart that listed the start date for these benefits. Not all ships start the same time. Also the Panoramic Suites were the same as JS. Double points, but not full suite benefits.

We booked 1804 last week for a SEP 2019 cruise. It was listed as a VP suite but falls into a Junior Suits category. We will get double C&A points. We were seaching in the Junior Suite class on RCL website when booking and 1804 showed up. We booked this as a back to back cruise but will change to an aft Junior Suite for the second leg. Overall we will be earning 28 points total and so close to being double diamomd.

Hoping someone will come back after May and verify what benefits they received. We just booked one of these on Mariner for next November. Hoping for full suite privedges like we received when we were in the Ben and Jerry’s “Sweet” a couple of years ago. I’ll be good either way but it would be nice to have confirmation.

I'm betting on JS amenities since these suites are being treated the same as JS when it comes to refundable and non-refundable booking options.

I just read through this entire thread and it is really insightful (even though I never plan to book one of these former family ocean view/future-semi-Suites-with-perks...maybe rooms.

Twospoiled: When you had the Ben & Jerry Sweet, and you you got “full privileges,” what do you mean by that? Did you get to check- in with the suite line? Did you get free alcohol in the diamond/concierge lounge? Did you get double points? Did you get concierge access? Was your seapass card gold?

We did not have priority check-in but we did have priority departure. When we checked in we were still considered as any other promenade cabin but, once in our cabin we found a letter inviting us to go see the concierge, Raj, and he would then give us our gold seapass cards giving us full suite access. We were allowed in the diamond/concierge lounge, were invited to a champagne brunch with the ships officers, access to the roped off area at the pools for suite guests, priority dinner reservations, and everything else a full suite guest received. Raj told us that if we needed anything at all to just let him know and her would see to it. It was truly amazing!

The only other perk we did not receive was obviously the double cruise points.

Sweet! [emoji2] What is priority departure? Is that only on the last day, or is that every time people “depart” the ship on port days?

Both in a way. If you are at a tender port, I believe you get to go on the first tenders and for the last day, suites are the first off right after self disembark. In Fort Lauderdale our bags were separate from the masses so much easier to find!

We hope someone comes back after the May transition to report on the experience. My husband and I are booked in 1804 on Freedom of the Seas in March 2019.

Our experience has been that the if you want to get off first (or get on the first tender), you can arrange to meet the concierge at the cl and they will escort the group off the ship. Have used for early non-ship tours and it’s great.

This is a feature that would definitely come in handy for independently booked excursions!

I am looking at prices for 2019 and the non balcony suite is more expensive than an owners suite so it should have all the benefits on that basis?

The prices vary due to supply and demand, not necessarily based on benefits.

I've got a couple of Adventure cruises booked in 2019. When I check suite pricing, the VP has been less than the J4 since I've been looking. Not a huge amount less, maybe $100 - $150pp.

changed P2 1802 a week away and it was a savings of $99 (which won't be credited after final payment time). A junior suite was $979 more. So there are no last minute deals to be had.

Just to add another data point which may or may not mean anything.

The VP rooms come up if you select to book a "refundable deposit (junior suite only)".

That's on Adventure of the Seas August 2018.

It is my understanding that you can only be given true suites (Grand and above) if you select non refundable deposit.

Also I had one booked for like 20 minutes and the gratituties for 1802 on Adventure were the same as it previous balcony. So it sounds as if the only questions that remain to me is 1864 and 1814 might be Junior Suites after May 14?
