KEG21552 Posted May 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2017 We are thinking of doing the repositioning cruise from San Juan to New York with an overnight in Kings Wharf Bermuda. Is a port or starboard cabin preferable or is it just hit or miss? Thanks Karen
ECCruise Posted May 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Depends on what you want to see but doesn't matter since it is hit and miss.
easyboy Posted May 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Hit or miss depending on how it is docked. Sent from my iPad using Forums
SailBadtheSinner Posted May 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2017 There are no bad views when docked at the Dockyard, IMHO. To see the waterview, watch the Bermuda cam. SBtS
CruisersTimesThree Posted May 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2017 I am going to check week to week to see how she docks, even though I know it doesn't matter, just curious as we are cruising July 23rd to Bermuda. We've been on this cruise 3xs and always was portside (I always book portside) Last week was the Summits first Bermuda cruise of the season and she docked portside. I looked this morning for this weeks sailing and the ship is starboard side at the dock.
AroundTheWorld1 Posted May 12, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2017 We had a lovely port cabin......here's some pics from our time in Bermuda, looking out from our cabin and of the ship from port dock Sent from my iPad using Forums

Redtravel Posted May 12, 2017 #8 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Been on both sides. Either side has a nice view.
davidhurt Posted May 13, 2017 #9 Share Posted May 13, 2017 My understanding is that how the ship docks depends on the forecasted conditions for the time of departure.
SailBadtheSinner Posted May 13, 2017 #10 Share Posted May 13, 2017 My understanding is that how the ship docks depends on the forecasted conditions for the time of departure. I'm sure that is a consideration but also considered are needed maintenance, life boat testing & drills, and current weather conditions.
