No Gambling???

Recommended Posts

My son is on the Grandeur from Baltimore now and he called on Saturday, his first evening, and said they are no longer allowing casino open to gamble on first night. He said they stated they are following suit with other cruise lines. Does anyone know anything about this and why? TIA

Virginia has recently changed their law regarding casinos on foreign flag cruise ships in Virginia waters. It is no longer allowed, and this has fueled some speculation about the future of homeporting in Baltimore.

Casino is completely closed the first day and closes around 5 pm on the last day. These are changes that just took place this year after Maryland passed a law prohibiting gambling within the Chesapeake Bay.

On the 2 sea days, slots open at 9am and tables open at noon. The day you get to Bermuda, I believe the slots are open until you reach port and then the slots and tables open that night at 9pm. The 2nd day in Bermuda, slots and tables open when you leave port.

This is for a 5 day cruise on Grandeur.
