Celebrity Drink Package (select alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks) & land excursions

Two questions

1. We are going on our first Celebrity cruise on June 4th (Equinox). We had a Carnival drink package before which if remember correctly involved 15 drinks a day, alcohol or not.

Does anyone know if Celebrity is the same or how is it different? I drink tea, coffee, water and wine (in no particular order ;p)

2. I want to book some excursions and used a non cruise website last time with no issue, but I would like to see what the ship has on offer but can't get any links to work. I enter my reservation number and other details but the button says "book it" and takes me to a page like I'm booking a brand new cruise. Where can I find and maybe book excursions for my particular cruise?

Thanks,

Aileen

Hi Aileen, I'm going to ask the last question first - the Celebrity website is a disaster. It just went through a recent overhaul and while it now looks better, it's no more functional. Please take heart that the onboard Celebrity experience is much better than the online one.

If you have the classic drink package, there is no limit regarding how many drinks you may have per day, just what items you can order without an extra charge. Your bartender or sommelier will be glad to help you. At Cafe al Bacio, the coffee bar, there are lots of special coffee drinks you can have and some excellent teas. The wines vary by itinerary but the staff can help you. The wines are ordered by the glass but if you order something in the dining room, your glass will keep getting refilled until you tell them to stop.

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

1. The beverage package on Celebrity doesn't work that way, you're allowed unlimited use daily, but you'll only be able to get one drink per order with your package(for example, you can't get both a soda and a cocktail or two cocktails at the same time on the same seapass card, you could, however get a soda at one bar, wait a couple minutes and then walk to a different bar and get a cocktail using the same card).

2. Have you registered on the Celebrity website yet? It may be easier to see what kind of excursions are available if you've registered with a user name and password, I believe that's the only way you can check to see what kind of shore excursions are available for your cruise. If you go to the Celebrity main page, you'll see the "Sign in or Register" link in the upper right hand corner(dark blue rectangular box). If you click on it then the "Register Now" in the dropdown, it will take you to a page where you can enter your information. You will then have a "My Celebrity" page where you can input your booking number and set up your page so you can do online check in when the time comes as well as look at any shore excursions available.

Wait what? I like to drink sparkling water with dinner -- does this mean that I won't be able to have a San Pellegrino and a glass of wine at the same time?

Technically you aren't supposed to order two beverages at the same time. You will find that in the dining room you will order wine from a sommelier and sparkling water from a different person. You shouldn't run into trouble having both drinks in front of you at the same time.

Thanks, that's good to know. I just need to keep track of extra charges for maybe a higher priced wine.

That's the weird thing. I have checked in got my luggage print outs Xpress pass etc. I have a reservation number etc but it won't let me pull up what I want. Someone said the website isn't the best. I will probably have to give them a call.

You can get them, but maybe not order them together. Order the San Pellegrino first when you sit down(or at a bar before you walk into dinner), then the wine when you order dinner

Okay you doing everything but being able to look at excursions is definitely a website issue. You can try giving them a call, or you may have to wait until you board to see what excursions are available.

I'm sorry, I forgot you mentioned that you have a classic package, San Pellegrino definitely isn't included so you should have no problem ordering both at dinner at once. With anything else like cocktails or coffees at Cafe al Bacio, you can only get one drink per transaction on your seapass card.

In this case no waiter will complain... and bring you both. Please note though that "San Pelegrino" is not part of the Classic Package - just soda water. For the premium waters you´d need the Premium Package.

The limitation to one drink at a time is just to prevent misuse. Otherwise just one person could buy the package and always get drinks for a second person not paying. The staff is quite sensible about that. They would not give you two cocktails at a time but never complain about a wine and a water or a specialty coffee and an orange juice at a time... no problem at all!
