Soda Card Question

Recommended Posts

We have previously cruised on Carnival. This is our first time on RCL. 12 night out of Baltimore on the Grandeur of the Seas December 2018. On carnival I would order water and carry on can soft drinks. How does this work on RCL? How much is a soda/water card? Can I carry on anything? Thanks for your help.

There is no soda/water card. There is a fountain soda only package that's like 8-9 a day, all fountain drinks including the Coke Freestyle machines if applicable. Cans may or may not be given under this package.

There is a non alcoholic package that is soda, specialty coffees, virgin cocktails and bottled water. Think that is like $13-15 per day( not positive)

Both will occasionally go on sale.

Officially, you may not bring either water or cans of soda on board but this is rarely enforced outside of spring break .

Royal does not have the same deal wrt buying bottled water as carnival does, but they do sell it. Again, not sure of the specifics, you'd have to check the website.

While officially you are not allowed to bring water or soda on board they rarely enforce this.

The soda only package is about $9.00 per day plus gratuity while the refreshment package (all non alcholic drinks such as water, soda, fresh OJ, specialty coffees, mock tails) is $26 per day plus gratuity.

There is no package that has water and soda only.

Included in your fare is Ice water, coffee, tea (iced or hot), lemonade, milk and juice at breakfast. While they SAY you can't bring any beverages aboard, it's rarely enforced...at least, for smaller amounts. You can buy ANYTHING without a package...so determine how much you are likely to order, and buy packages accordingly.

you literally have to check your daily planner every day for sales. the refresh pack was just on sale for a lot of people over the holiday. 18 instead of 26. also some excursions were on sale so i snagged a bed for 100 instead of 120. i also got email notifying me of the sales. 2 points for Royal as their IT normally isnt that good.

also i do daily price checks on the site so it does pay to mark 5 minutes of your day for this daily fun
