woodman Posted June 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2017  Need some help here. I have a cruise booked on the Oasis for this Sept. It's a 8 day Caribbean cruise, the Port charges are 643.94. I also have an 8 day cruise booked on the Carnival Sunshine for Nov. of this year and the Port charges are 248.50. That seems little out of proportion to me how about to ya'al? I booked the Oasis through a on line travel agent and the Carnival cruise direct through Carnival. Ocean Dancer Posted June 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Are you doing a partial Panama Canal? That would not be on the Oasis. Are you sharing a cabin with others?
Ourusualbeach Posted June 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Since you booked through a TA with Royal you are seeing all of the noncommissionable fare instead of just the port fees and taxes. Do a mock booking on Royal's site to see the actual port fees and taxes.

Biker19 Posted June 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 12, 2017 The port charges for an Oasis itinerary should be $100-$150 pp. Something else is figured in that number. Some TAs list the numbers differently on their invoice - look at the overall number and compare to RCI's figure, those should be the same.
Rare John&LaLa Posted June 12, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 12, 2017 I'm confused, we have or had every September sailing on Oasis booked and none were 8 days. Unless you count Sunday twice. Port fees are $89, $99, and $111 Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app
woodman Posted June 12, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted June 12, 2017 :) Thanks all for the replies. I did a mock booking and was charged $224. Tax and port charges for a 7 day out of Port Canaveral. I think it is the travel agent commission . After comparing the total cost of the 2 cruises the one I have booked came in $100. less. So I'm kind of happy but still confused(LOL) But then I'm old and it happens often.
