Deac1966 Posted June 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2017 If someone already booked directly with Princess I am wondering why they would transfer their booking to a travel agent?
Colo Cruiser Posted June 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2017 If someone already booked directly with Princess I am wondering why they would transfer their booking to a travel agent? An 8% to 12% savings on your cruise fare. ;p

Pam in CA Posted June 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 20, 2017 An 8% to 12% savings on your cruise fare. ;pAt least plus OBC and someone who will look out for you. I never book directly any more than paying full MSRP for anything.
cruiseintoheaven Posted June 20, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 20, 2017 Hard to beat the savings (10-15%) off booking directly, and on some bookings extra OBC from TA, or goodies once onboard (bottle of wine, free 8x10 photo etc.) [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Forums
RocketMan275 Posted June 20, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 20, 2017 It depends. Some TA only book your cruise for you on Princess at the currently available fare. Then they charge for changes, cancellations, etc. If that is the case, then you're better booking directly. With a bit of work, you should be able to find a TA that doesn't charge any fees not charged by the cruise line and who will book your cruise at about 10% less than what the cruise line will charge. joybook Posted June 20, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 20, 2017 I would be interested to hear from some Aussie cruisers. I have yet to find a TA that will give me anything - certainly not discounted Princess fares. I now mostly book direct through Princess who have always honoured price drops just by calling them. Monitoring prices is not a problem and I recall the last time I went through a TA I had to tell them that there had been a price drop.
mr green Posted June 21, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 21, 2017 My usual policy is simple. First I find the cruise, and the price that I like. Then I go to my Travel Agent, and ask if she can beat the price. She usually does!
mr green Posted June 21, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 21, 2017 First I locate the cruise, the price, and the cabin that i want. Now I go to my T,A., and ask her to beat the price. She usually does!:)
lovevacadays Posted June 21, 2017 #10 Share Posted June 21, 2017 Because of a better price. I don't typically get 8-12% like some do but enjoy some savings.
